Waiting for HIM

Greetings my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ,

Once again the Holy Spirit so wonderfully reminded me of this verse; Isaiah 64:4. "For from days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, Nor has the eye seen a God besides You, Who acts in behalf of the one who waits for HIM." (NASB).

As I look at this verse I am drawn to a little Precious Moments plate which my mom gave me one year for Christmas. On it is a girl with flowers and ribbon tying up her blonde curly locks. She is standing head partially down and yet her eyes looking ahead with her hands folded together behind her back. She is standing in a bed of flowers and she is waiting. Ah my Precious God if only I could, would be like this in my waiting. Content in waiting for the LORD. Waiting for HIM. Once again I am waiting - and as I wrote beside this verse in my bible on 1/22/07 this is my prayer Oh, Lord that I will wait just a little longer.

Heavenly Father, God of Wonder, God of Pure Light.
We long to hear, to see, to know - Your Loving Might.
May each dear sister-in-Christ take hold of and Delight,
in asking, seeking, knocking and be pleasing in Your Sight.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week,

Your friend and sister-in-Christ.

A Reason to Praise HIM

Good Morning dear sisters-in-Christ,

I would like to welcome a new member today. I met her this weekend while staying at the Hyatt on the island of Kauai in the city of Koloa (Old Koloa Town). Which brings me to my talking story with you today about my weekend. It was so wonderful how God planned the whole weekend. Not in a gakizzillion years could I have ever envisioned our weekend. When my husband and I retired in 2001 and came to the islands our first choice was Kauai, so we arrived on the island and after a few short months we knew that Kauai would not be affordable for us so we ventured to the Big Island telling ourselves that we would make it back to Kauai for our vacations, maybe a long weekend together. Well, it stretched out to be this God ordained time in our lives. And how so differently our live turned out from when we first began in January of 2001 to now. GOD is so AWESOME. Because of my husband's work schedule I basically had the whole weekend to commune with God and earnestly seek what He has planned for this year. What it turned out to be was, Him saying I'm going to show you just what has happened over the last 6 years and give you a reason to PRAISE ME. Oh, how sweet the communion was and how glorious and magnificent is my GOD that all that has been and is being GOD was/is HERE. Thank you and praise you my King.

Heavenly Father, Holy art thou my God and Savior and Counselor. The Holy Trinity, three-in-one. Blessings and Honor is due your name. I pray this day with bowed heart and hands lifted up giving You all the Glory and Praise. Thank You oh most Sovereign Lord for the valley experiences, for the desert experiences, for the winter and fall experiences, for the dry experiences, for prayers answered with a no. Praise you oh most Sovereign LORD for the mountain-top experiences, the oasis' experiences, the spring and summer experiences, for the rainy experiences, and for all the prayers answered with a YES. My LORD, my Savior, my Comforter, I pray for each dear sister-in-Christ this day and for the days ahead that You would reveal to her the reasons for You to Praise and Worship You. "Ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done, saith the Lord God." Exekiel 14:23. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week,

Your dear friend and sister-in-Christ.

5 Little Things

Greetings,

There is a picture today - and identifying them. First the flowers, lavender sprigs from birthday flowers received from daughter and family set in a vase which has a rose base which was received from my oldest son. Second a little vase which I purchased from my favorite coffee farm in all of Kona from a dear sister-in-Christ. In the middle - a scented candle burning purchased at K-Mart. Fourth a book received from my oldest son and his family for Christmas, it is very humorous. And last a giraffe with a bobbing neck/head received from a dear sister-in-Christ for my birthday.

What does all this have to do with my prayer. Well all these in one way or another are my favorite things. Giraffes, lavender, scented candles, unique vases and books which make me laugh (good humor). These things keep me balanced I guess you could say. Things that I treasure, things that I can look at or reference and know that I am real, that I am a needy person, that I am so wonderfully weird, as my son-in-law says it. Yep this is me, whom our Great God created. WOW!! Isn't HE so creative.

That HE has created all these most amazing things - giraffes, flowers, talented crafters and writers who are able to create something from nothing, laughter and wonderful family and friends to fellowship with and GOD is a GOOD GOD.

Heavenly Father, How Great thou art, LORD thank you that you have created each one of us so wonderfully weird. LORD, oh most Sovereign LORD, may each dear sister-in-Christ see with her heart just how beautiful You are and that they are a new creature in Christ Jesus. May Your Presence so overwhelm them this very hour, this very day, that they cannot contain the JOY and HOPE that they have. May they begin to Shout and Dance for the Hope which lies within them through the promises set before them through Your Word, the living Word, which is the living water and sustains them for eternity. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until Next Week,

May the God we Serve Richly Bless Thee

Your friend and dear sister-in-Christ

January 2007

Greetings to my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ,

January 2007, what will this year bring?! A new year - and with that comes new ideas and desires and wants. But as my pastor stated on Sunday, this year God's planning on pruning. So with that I have a new heart attitude -

This is the day that the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it.

And I catch myself thinking - WOW a new day- I haven't lived this one before. Lord prepare me for this day.

Today I choose to:

Praise HIM through Prayer to receive the Power and Peace in order to hear and
do what HE has Planned and Purposed for your life, while abiding in HIS Presence.

Our Father in Heaven
Hallowed be thy Name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy Will be done
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our debts as
We forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into Temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the Kingdom and Power
and the Glory
Forever and Ever, Amen.

Heavenly Father, how Great is Your Love, may each dear sister-in-Christ, trust in Your Goodness and abide in Your Presence this day and in the days ahead. May each begin to desire the meat of Your Word no longer needing the milk. May the Word of God, the Sword of the Spirit be evident in their lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week

Your dear friend and sister-in-Christ.

Added Responsibilities

Greetings to all,

2007, Amazing and awesome isn't it!!?? My desire to have a kitty came true. But we decided that two would be much better than one because they would keep each other company while we were at work. And then since I got the kittens my husband got to have his Bird, Ecelectus Parrot. WOW, did I ever forget about responsibilites. I know that it pales in comparison to those who have babies and children but this whole idea of providing for their needs has taken me to a new level. This is hard work. The feeding by putting a dish of food in front of them is no problem. It's the attention THING. Two require much, much, more. My lap isn't big enough to hold both of them at the same time and naturally one or the other has to have more attention and tries to get the other one off of my lap. And this is when I am trying to do my bible reading time which I have always desired and demanded giving my full attention to praying and reading. In fact as I type this they have surrounded my chair and are trying to get up to help me with this. I sense some learning on my part on how to handle distractions in the midst of drawing closer to God.

Heavenly Father, praise and glory and honor. Hallelujah and Amen to the Great I AM. Thank you for bringing us thus far in our journey with you. Oh Lord, there are going to be constant distractions and changes in our lives and You are in the midst of them. Lord, may we each draw closer to thee in this new year, 2007. Our future is in Your hands and You are still directing. Yes, Lord You are in our midst and may we walk into this year 2007 with an expectancy to see the miraculous and the magnificence of being Your child. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week,

Your friend and sister-in-Christ.
