The Book of Jude
Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,
Today is the third day of waking up to cloudy skies and high humidity BUT God is still a Good God. I needed to get my whining out of the way and get to the meat of the word. I opened to the short book of Jude because it is a book that I don't frequent very much in my devotional readings and now I know why. I read the first few verses and when I got to verse 9 is where I stopped because it was talking about Michael the archangel. He disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses! If Michael the archangel argued and disputed with the devil, where does that leave us in our walk of faith? Michael the archangel said, "The Lord rebuke you!" As I read further the words were troubling to me because these words are saying that I need to pay attention to what is going on in the eternal and lay aside the external. There are so many things happening in the world and it is hard for me to focus on the main thing. And that is where verses 17-25 were my focus needed to be. It is written, "But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, "In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts." These are the ones who cause division, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh. Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen." These precious words of truth inspire me and encourage me and strengthen me and give me a peace in knowing that our LORD is in control of the most miniscule of happenings. Let us pray for this is my prayer also for you dear and precious sisters-in-Christ. At the end of this book there was space and on December 28, 2011 I wrote this prayer, "Oh Abba Father, how merciful and gracious is Your love toward me. Lord I wear the cross as a reminder that I have been set apart by the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed on the Cross where He hung and died for me that I no longer will suffer death (total separation from Him) But will live eternally with Him in Heaven. Lord God thank You that I am deeply and passionately and intimately known and loved by Thee. Lord thank You that You conform me to the image of Your Son, my Savior Jesus Christ by His power and wisdom. Lord only You are able to keep me from stumbling and to make me stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great Joy. Praise Thee O LORD GOD. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Blessed Assurance,
LyndiaSue
