A Little Thing Called FAITH - Hebrews 11:1

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

The last Wednesday in May and I am happy to report that the lilacs are starting to bloom. The winter was so harsh this year coupled with the virus crisis it seemed almost unimaginable that it would and yet hoping that it would.

A little thing called Faith. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."

A memory to share: We were living in a small town in Washington many years back - I needed to hang the clothes on the line to dry and asked my husband if the big black cloud would reach us any time soon, looking at the cloud, he said I had a few hours. Shortly after that my sister-in-law called to say that Mount Saint Helens had erupted. The big black cloud did not contain moisture but ash and lots of it. The town we were living in was the direct path that the cloud traveled and a few hours later the ash began to fall.

We then prepared, as best we could, to keep the ash from coming into our small home and waited until it passed. The next morning as as we looked out our windows at the bushes and trees and neighbors houses at the devastation, my husband said to me, which has stuck in my mind so vividly, "you know that this is not going to melt." At the time I didn't understand exactly what he meant but several days later it became apparent. It looked a little like dirty snow and heavier and we had lived in areas where the snow had fallen and busted trees and bushes but eventually the sun came out and it melted. Volcanic Ash does not melt.

I know that it is small in comparison to what is happening now globally, but still I started to get that same feeling a few weeks ago and realized that I was going to need more Faith because of the example of the snow versus volcanic ash. It is not going to be the same.

Abba Father,

We come before Your Throne of Grace this morning and give You all the honor and glory and praise. We thank You for this day and will rejoice for you have made it. Lord thank You for giving us breath for today, thank you for the new day filled with tender mercies. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she be anointed with your precious gift of Faith, the kind of faith that clings to, adheres to, fastens to, glues to, and hangs on no matter what or where or when or how. Oh Lord may her countenance be one that her family and friends want to have, may her beauty come from you, may her mind be as the mind of Christ. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Blessings my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Psalm 85:10

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Those who came to vacation in Hawaii and us who lived there were told to wait for the green flash of the sunset, I was the same until...

People would gather at the shoreline or sit on the famous wall along Alii Drive and wait for the sun to set hoping to see the "green flash."

One special night, after a long, very long and hectic day at work I decided to take a drive along Alii Drive around sunset to settle me down for the evening. The sun was beginning to settle down onto the horizon and it was at that moment that it became so peacefully still. The heat of the sun reflected off of the cool of the ocean water. It hovered over and I was mesmerized by the beauty and sweetness and gentleness of the first dip when the sun sweetly touched the water. It was the most beautiful kiss I had ever seen. After seeing it once I wanted to see again and again and again. As it touched, at the same time I was so moved by the sight I was completely at peace knowing that the day had ended and it had ended with a kiss.

Today's verse - "Lovingkindness (Mercy) and Truth have met together; Righteousness and Peace have kissed each other." Psalm 85:10

Abba Father,

Most Glorious and Merciful God, Thank You that in our need and want and desire and lack and plenty and health and sickness and doubt and fear and gratefulness and anxiousness and confidence and lack there of, You sweetly and intimately touch us. Lord I pray for Your Touch today as each dear and precious sister-in-Christ faces her day. May she see where Your "Mercy and Truth have met together" and where "Righteousness and Peace have kissed each other", and rejoice and be filled with such Joy and Hope. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Being Touched by Him,

The Word of Silence

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

"Let us pause for a moment of silence".

Definition of silence: a)complete absence of sound, b) the fact or state of abstaining from speech, c) the avoidance of mentioning or discussing something, and d) the state of standing still and not speaking as a sign of respect of someone's deceased or in an opportunity for prayer.

I wanted to include all four because after reading I found that all are applicable to today. Let us take a look at them -
a) is not possible unless you are deaf. There is sound all around and as soon as someone says, "let us pause for a moment of silence", the coughing and signing and shuffling of feet noises seem to blast through the room. b) yes, that is possible for the person who has requested is doing so. c) also, very possible and it is used all the time. Lastly, d) and that is the one I would like to use today. Not necessarily the standing still but the not speaking as a sign of respect of ... or in an opportunity for prayer.

Abba Father,

Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Harken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. (Psalm 5:1,2) Praise to thee oh Lord God that as I come before Your throne of Grace this moment may You "give ear to my words and consider my meditation." I pray that You "harken unto the voice of my cry." Lord in this moment of silence before You in prayer, may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, Trust and Know that in these turbelunt and uncertain times that You are a Faithful, Omnipotent, and Loving God. In their moment, may they be reminded of these very words of truth, "as it is written, Eyes hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." In the midst of grieving what was and anxious about what is to come, may they Focus upon Jesus the author and perfecter of their Faith. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Blessings of Silence,

Psalm 121:5, 8 - The Lord Is and Will ...

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

These uncertain times truly are very adventurous arn't they?

Definition: 1) willing to take risks or to try out new methods, ideas, or experiences, 2) involving new ideas or methods, 3) full of excitement.

I can recall one very adventurous trip that we took several years ago. A float trip down the Missouri River, yes, 5 nights and 6 days of being on a vast river in canoes. My husband and myself along with our oldest son home from the service and our daughter to round out the crew. Two canoes loaded with all the things we needed for eating, drinking and sleeping. We started off around 5:00 in the evening and 6 days later we left the river around 4:00. Each day truly was an adventure, we would start out in the morning not knowing what and how but we had a destination and a map and by afternoon we arrived at our destination and set up camp for the night.

You are probably thinking what does floating down a river have to do with what is going on now. And indeed, a valid thought. I would like to consider the following verses - It is written: "The LORD is your keeper; The LORD is your shade on your right hand." and "The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forever."

Yes, these are His promises - He is and He will - amidst these times of uncertainty and every day angst "He is and He will..."

Abba Father,

How Glorious and Majestic and Faithful and Amazing thou art. We give You all the glory and all the Praise. Lord thank you that You are our keeper and our shade on our right hand. Lord thank You that You will guard our going out and our coming in from this time forth and forever. How Great is Thy Name and Yes Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she greets each day and all that she has to do may she reach her destination and lay her head down for a peaceful sleep knowing that You are the same yesterday, today and forever. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Living the adventurous life,
