My Wednesday Morning Prayer

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

My daughter gave me a book a couple of years ago as a Christmas present titled, "Giraffes Can't Dance" by Giles Andreae and Guy Parker-Rees.

I think that out of all the animals that God created the absolute best one that He made was the Giraffe, that is how much I love giraffes.

So back to the book. First of all it is the compact, hard covered, waterproof and stain resistant one. It is made of double strong cardboard and is small enough to fit in my backpack. Second, it was one of the books that I kept when we were packing up and moving from Hawaii to the mainland. Third, fourth and fifth, it is about a giraffe.

While waiting for my morning drink the other day, it was on the bookshelf of the local coffee shop. I picked it up and began to read and remembered why I like it so. Yes, the obvious is the magnificent giraffe, Gerald, is his name, and why should it even be a concern that he can't dance?

As I selected this book for today's posting, flipping through the pages my eye was drawn to the following, "Gerald simply froze up. He was rooted to the spot. They're right, he thought. I'm useless. Oh, I feel like such a clot.

How many times I have simply froze up in a situation and completely forgot that "who I am" is not dependent on what others think or say but in the fact that I am the daughter of the King. He created me to be unique and His. He loves me and is jealous over me and He even gives me the dreams and desires and needs and wants. Wow, how wonderful that each and every one of us have been created by God, the creator of all things. And when He has planned and purposed your life He will continually keep you until the end of time.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory to thee, oh most Holy Father, thank You that You gave Your only begotten Son to die for all of mankind, oh Your most Holiest and righteous of plans for all of us. Lord I pray today for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, that Your Son, Jesus Christ would continually be upon her lips in praise and in her heart to inspire her and in her mind to build her up in the boldness to proclaim that Jesus Christ is LORD of lords, and KING of kings and that in His Strength she can do all things and He will keep her in prefect Peace which passes all understanding, In the Precious Name of JESUS, Amen.

First Day of Summer

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Seasons, I am now into the season of summer. I survived the harshness of Winter and the fickleness of Spring and heading into the sweetness of Summer. Previously living in another part of the world where seasons were not really acknowledged I am learning to appreciate once again the challenges and rewards that come from living with the harshness and fickleness and sweetness of life. I am thankful for the sweetness of Summer.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory to You, oh most Sovereign LORD, thank You that in all things You are God and that my life is in Your Loving Embrace. Lord God I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that her days of the sweetness of Summer be filled to the brim with Your JOY, the Joy that makes her giddy and excited. A Joy that brings with it boldness to create, strength to explore, perseverance to TRUST in the Faithfulness of her LORD. May her Summer be filled with the Sweetness of Jesus her First Love. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

No Expiration Date

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I began my day by opening the curtains and seeing that there was a dark cloud over the city and my plans to go swimming this morning are probably not going to happen. Aw, so sad because there are only so many days that I will be able to go swimming because the pool is open from first of June until the end of August. There is an expiration date!! Not that I actually pay much attention to expiration dates anyway. Especially canned foods and packaged foods, right? Now how can I apply this example to my prayer life?

God's Word says to pray without ceasing and that to keep asking and seeking and knocking, but I do not do this very faithfully. I tend to start my day with good intentions but by the end of the morning I seem to go my own way. Then again at bedtime I read my devotional and say goodnight. So many times I place an expiration date on something but that is not what God says to do. To change my thinking I must remain in His Presence even when the world (my everyday experiences) is trying to keep me in the moment. Especially in the new place He has placed me. My life is simple and yet I try to complicate it so many times and in so many ways. I want my prayer life to not have an expiration date!! How about you?

Abba Father, I come before Your Holy and most Sovereign Throne of Grace and Worship You. For You are most Holy, You change not, You are forever and ever. LORD, thank you for my life. For in You it has no expirattion date! Lord I come before Your Throne of Grace asking for Your favor to be liberally applied to each dear sister-in-Christ's day. For You tell us that Your tender mercies are new every morning. Oh Lord may Your tender mercies flow so richly in their hearts and minds today that they are so overwhelmed by Your Kindness and Goodness and Faithfulness. May Your Favor be upon them. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

Transition Time

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Since moving to Montana life has not been really stable for me, by that I mean, each day has packed into it so many different choices and challenges. I have somewhat of a routine to help me to handle the challenges that come with the choices that need to be made during a day. Today during my devotional time I was caught by a phrase, "you are in a transition time of your life", So I looked up the definition of transition:

INOUN
the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another.

VERB
NORTH AMERICAN
undergo or cause to undergo a process or period of transition.

Prayfully I will go into this time gladly allowing the LORD to guide me.

I am also praying for each one of you this day. This is the one thing that has been a constant in my life, each Wednesday to be able to share with you in prayer about our LORD.

Abba Father, Praise to thee and thank you that You are our mighty and Sovereign Heavenly Father who created us and formed us and knows us so deeply and intimately. LORD, I ask that each dear and precious sister-in-Christ be totally dependent on Your Grace and to Be Still and Know that You are the Great I AM. Lord may each day be filled with the wonder of You and You Alone. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.
