Psalm 18:2

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I received as a gift from my daughter for Mother's Day, 1994, a little booklet, which I keep in the pocket of my bible cover. This morning I decided to search through it and found this verse.

Psalm 18:2 "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."

The title of the booklet is Prayers That Avail Much For Mothers by Harrison House. There are several sections of pure scripture and the referenced Psalm was found under the category of What the Word say About You - If You Need Strength.

Today dear and precious sisters-in-Christ if you are in need of strength this is my prayer,

Abba Father, Gracious and Gentle and Mighty and Merciful, thank you and praise you that you are my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Oh Lord in You alone will I trust. I pray for each precious one who reads this that she will listen and comprehend each and every WORD and may it take root in her heart and lead her into a deeper walk with thee. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Micah 6:8

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I read a word this morning which got me to thinking - this word was poise - do not know the last time that I heard that word, probably when I was in my teens. I was eavesdropping on a conversation that my mother and aunt were having about me. We had moved from Montana to California do to my father's health. It was a conversation about dating - so naturally I had to listen. My aunt told my mom that I should take ballet lessons so I would be graceful and have poise. Needless to say I stayed mad at my aunt for quite some time and I didn't have to take ballet lessons. But something happened over the next couple of years and looking back I realized that what my aunt did in her subtle way was to introduce me to the world of being poised.

The definition of poise 1) graceful and elegant bearing in a person, 2)composure and dignity of manner.

This verse was brought to my mind: Micah 6:8 "He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"

As I walk through this life of mine which has been planned and purposed by the Creator, the Sovereign Lord how wonderful to know that He Loves me.

Oh Lord I do desire to be a woman who does and loves and walks as you require.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to You. How great and merciful You are. Thank you oh Lord that You have given each of us a day, oh how marvelous that Your tender mercies are new every morning and that all we need do is rejoice and be glad for it is the day that you have made. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she be richly blessed by Your Presence today that as she walks through her day she will be considered by all to have poise. Oh Lord, how you mold and shape each vessel. May we cling to the Heavenly Father today. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Psalm 93

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

The middle of October and our island is settling down from the visitors and press and athletics who participated in Kona Ironman. Each year is seems to be harder and harder to graciously accept the crowds and noise and disruption of our simple life here on the Big Island. This is just a thought from me and has nothing to do with today's posting.

Psalm 93:1-5

The LORD reigneth He is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yes, than the mighty waves of the sea.
Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.

The first and fourth verses - The first verse, The LORD REIGNS
clothed with majesty and strength, the fourth verse, mightier than the noise of many waters - tell of HIM.

Abba Father, Praise and Worship to thee, as I come before the throne of Grace this day along with my sisters-in-Christ may we be of one accord in worshipping thee, oh mighty LORD whose testimonies are very sure. LORD Praise thee that the world that You established cannot be moved. Lord we are Your children and we are a part of that world which you established and it cannot be moved. LORD may be humbly come before our Sovereign and Holy LORD and fall at Your feet and worship You alone.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Being Changed

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I am reminded of the time when I was 15 and we took a trip from my home town of Lewistown, Montana to where my mom's family lived in Evansville, Indiana. It was really the last summer trip that we took as a family. My brothers and I were getting older and a decision had to be made because of my father's health as to whether to stay in Montana or move to a place where the weather was milder. Since I was the oldest of the 5 siblings I was going to be able to stay with my aunt for a couple of extra weeks which would allow my folks more time to sort things out. It has been a few years since then so don't know exactly the details on my staying.

I do remember though the importance of me being there and realizing that what I was going to facing after I left was something that would change me. There was a quiet nagging within me.

The remembrances of that summer:

Catching Fire flies in a glass jar and sitting under the tree
Taking a shower n the middle of the yard during an afternoon rain
Going to a dance with my aunt, who is 6 months younger than me
Helping my grandmother while she fixed our morning breakfast
Listening to the sounds of neighborhood get togethers
Walking to the neighborhood store
Taking the hand of my uncle's and skipping down the forbidden street

But most of all it was the fact that I was allowing myself to be a teenager with not a care in the world.

The quiet nagging in me remains to this day - that is how I know that I am being changed. The Lord draws me closer to Him and in the drawing I find that this quiet nagging brings me to a place where my life is forever changed in the most amazing of ways. For I must remember that I am the clay and He is the Potter.

Abba Father,

Thank you and Praise You oh most Sovereign Lord, how Great thou art. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she would come to You just as a child and choose to receive Your touch. May she be wrapped in the hands of the Potter and know that with each touch of Your hands she is being changed into the woman Your have created her to be. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Psalm 119:89-90

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I am rejoicing because I have just received a word and it has given me hope to continue to strive forward in my walk with the Lord. Some of you know what I am saying because you have cried and fasted and have almost given up hope that the Lord will answer and even if he did would you be able to accept the answer He would give thee.

I was drawn to the above verse this morning, verse 89: "For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (with a reference of 1 Peter 1:25, "But the word of the LORD endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.") verse 90)"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou has established the earth, and it abideth."

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105) - Oh how precious is thy word.

There are so many words going forth these days that our minds hardly have a chance to digest them at all.

I have a hope and a trust for I am assured and I will choose to rest in this TRUTH - that forever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Abba Father, thank you for Your precious Word, JESUS, oh and that it is settled in heaven. Lord I pray that You would stir up the hearts of the dear and precious sisters-in-Christ that they would desire thy WORD. May their hearts and minds be filled with thy WORD. Lord, it is being poured forth every day open their ears to hear and open their eyes to see Your Glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
