Island Life

Greetings my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ,

I forget almost every day and not only at those times but during the day I forget. I live on an island in the middle of the vast ocean. I forget this. How do I know that I forget -- because I will look up and see the ocean which stretches out as far and as wide as my vision can go. Then I am reminded that I live on an island in the middle of the sea. Isn't it amazing. In my devotional time this morning the question was, "What do you see and know about God through nature."

My response was, "HE is MORE."

YES, dear friends and sisters-in-Christ our Father in Heaven is MORE. His creation - the stars are more than you can ever see; the ocean waves are more than you can ever count; the seeds which produce the fruits and grains are more than we can ever use; the "each day" is packed with more time than we are ever able to use up.

Heavenly Father, our GREAT and MIGHTY GOD, who is MORE. Oh most Sovereign LORD, may we, your children, desire to ask, knock, and to seek the MORE of Your almighty power, your awesome presence, your unfathomable provision, your unending peace and your unfailing promises. Lord I also pray for my dear sisters-in-Christ this day and this week that Your MORE would come in their hearts and bring them comfort, peace, healing, and Your JOY. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week,

Your dear friend and sister-in Christ.

In the Midst

Greetings,

Virginia's Tradegy - While driving into work, my boss had heard on the radio about the tragedy. We got on the internet to see what was happening. Throughout the day we checked on the site to see if there were further developments. I came home at noon and turned on the TV to one of the news networks. And it was a scene that was shown, a small clip, which captured my heart and while watching this scene, I knew just how tragic the scene was. A police officer was standing on the landing of an ambulance van and was leaning with his head resting in his hands and arms. He was uncontrollably weeping. This police officer has seen much, has witnessed much whether through the videos that they subject them to during training or even when he has been in the midst of a terrifying situation. But him just seeing the tragedy caused him to weep uncontrollably. I saw that and in that second I knew and understood. The uncontrollable weeping - that which causes us to grieve from deep within.

Heavenly Father, Abba, LORD, Praise and Glory and Honor and Power. Thank you oh Lord that You are in the Midst of Them. Lord God, I pray for each life that is weeping uncontrollably this day. I pray for each sister-in-Christ who comes before your Throne of Grace with weeping for their loved ones, for their health, for their finances, for their circumstances, for their grieving moments when all seems lost. May they remember that You in the Midst of it All.

Until next week,

Your dear friend and sister-in-Christ

First Time Happenings

Greetings my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ,

During my quiet time this morning, I heard the doves outside my window. Which brought to my mind the first time I heard them was when we came to Hawaii the first time, which lead me to recall other first times. Those times when I said, "This is the first time that this has ever happened to me." As with your lives, we have experienced many first time happenings; some are not worth remembering but most of the are so precious and important that just a sound or maybe a smell brings you back to that exact moment in time. Whatever that might be for you today. I want to remember that each new day is a first time happening for me. It is filled with new mercies. It is a day that God has made. Let it be a day filled with wonder and awe at how absolutely marvelous our God is. For Jesus Christ is the first and the last. The Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.
Enjoy your first time happenings this day my dear friends and sisters-in-Christ.

Abba Father, Glorious God, our God who creates, who makes the new day, who keeps, restores, rebuilds and lifts up. Thank you. Oh, most Sovereign Lord, I pray for each dear friend and sister-in-Christ that this day will be the first time happening in her life and bring her to a newness in You, a revelation that You alone will bring all the gifts. Gifts of Love, Joy, Peace, Goodness, Kindness, Patience, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self-Control. May their hearts be filled with Your Power and Presence this day.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until Next Week,

Your dear friend and sister-in-Christ.

The Thief Upon the Cross

Greetings,

I have been reading in Luke 24 about the crucifixion of Jesus. This being so close to Easter - in past years, Easter was a time to get baskets prepared for the children, choir practice at the church, egg hunts on Saturday, midday prayer time at the church on Good Friday and what to prepare for Easter dinner, and there was also some relief in sight as to what I had given up during Lent, and knowing that once again I could enjoy whatever it was I had given up again without feeling guilty. So to continue -- I was reading the account of the two thieves on the cross. And I asked God in my quiet time to help me to be more like the thief on the cross who recognized that as he hung there on the cross he asked of Him: " Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kindom." Ah, that all, even me, would recognize the Jesus Christ is Lord. That He is King. And as Jesus Christ answered him, "Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise". I pray that this Easter is a day of WORSHIP.

Recognizing that our Lord, our Savior, and our King is inviting all the people who are like the thieves upon the cross, just hanging on, helpless, condemned, without hope, in pain, thirsty, and soon to be DEAD. As the masses attend their church services and perform their traditions may each of us see the thieves in our lives.

Abba Father, Glorious Lord, Praise and Glory and Honor and Power to thy Name. I pray for each dear sister-in-Christ this day and this Easter that their eyes would be opened to see Your Glorious Resurrection. And WORSHIP the King. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until Next Week,

Your dear friend and sister-in-Christ.
