Psalm 107:9

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, It is beginning to look like Spring and an itchiness to start gathering flowers and trees is definitely causing me to want to take action but I am told that planting should begin in the middle of May. So why do they have all these plants for sale and have big gatherings to buy now. I have no place to store them except in my kitchen area. And looking at them frustrates me even more. This past weekend my husband found the bird feeders hidden in a couple boxes that had been stored in the garage. Yes, we are still unpacking from our move. The weekend was pleasant and since we couldn't actually plant anything we thought at least getting the bird feeders out would be a beginning. Yesterday afternoon while I was out shopping he filled the feeders and spilled a few seeds on the patio as appetizers. I came home and saw the filled feeders and started to put the groceries away when I heard the birds screeching. It had started to rain and the look on the two birds remaining at the feeders was so hilariously funny. Yes, they seemed to be expressing their disgust that it was raining on them while they were trying to eat. I started to laugh standing at the window watching them. Today's Psalm is 107:9, "For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good." Yes, my example of the birds eating and their disgust at it raining, does remind me of just how I feel sometimes when I am enjoying something that I have looked forward to and unexpectedly it begins to rain or maybe it is some kind of interruption and I begin to whine or grumble. In the midst of my disappointment this verse brings me comfort for He (the LORD) has satisfied the thirsty soul, And the hungry soul He has filled with what is good. Let us pray - Abba Father, all Praise and Glory to You we sing today. Thank You for Your word, thank You for Your gifts of satisfying the thirsty and filling the hungry with what is good. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that her thirsty soul will be satisfied and her hungry soul will be filled with what is good and Your Goodness is forever and ever. Lord may she drink from the living waters and be revived in strength and Joy. In Jesus Name, Amen. Being satisfied and fill with what is good,

What Has He Done - Psalm 107:29-32

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Once again the Lord has asked of me to wait, so here am I Lord trying to be in wait mode but knowing what that actually looks like is another matter entirely. Our house needs to have some small "handyman" services but..., Yes trying to find a "handyman" is near to impossible. Indeed, God is in the business of doing the impossible so with that thought in mind along with the call to wait He must have someone definitely in mind that will bless us and glorify Him. Now to what He has done, Psalm 107: 29-32, "He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders." For those that have had the opportunity to be near the ocean or near a lake when the storm comes up and the panic sets in as the boat is being rocked back and forth and when the waves are hushed, that is what He has done. And taking it a step further when a storm has come up in your life so suddenly that you are rendered speechless He will still the storm to a whisper and he will guide you to your desired haven. Yes, the unfailing love of our Lord! He has done and He is doing and He will do again and again and again. And sometimes I take the stilling of the storm and forget to exalt him and praise him. He is the author and finisher of our faith, our final destination He knows and nothing will ever thwart His marvelous plans and purposes for your life. Let us pray - Abba Father, thank You for stilling the storm and for guiding us to our desired haven. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she walks through her day may she hear Your whisper and see Your guidance in her life and give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love. In Jesus Name, Amen. He stilled the storm,

Psalm 106:1-5 - My Musings

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Last month I joined the Y and started swimming as my exercise, however after a couple of days of swimming I caught a really bad cold, and it was put on hold for awhile. I am sure the swimming had nothing to do with it! Have recovered and decided to utilize the other services that were offered since I had already signed up for a month. Did the full tour and decided to walk on the track. There was another class below me and they were playing music which really helped me move right along and kept me from getting bored with the laps. Almost at the end of their class the instructor put on the cool down music and God showed up and the praising began. It was a worship song that I had sung several times during worship at my previous church. And my actions were spontaneous - with raised hands I started to worship the Lord. What a wonderful time I had just walking on the track and worshipping the Lord. This morning I have several words written in the margin alongside verses one through 5, first the verses themselves, which are underlined, "Praise the Lord give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; His love endures forever. Who can proclaim the mighty acts of the LORD or fully declare His praise: Blessed are they who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right. Remember me, O LORD, when you show favor to your people, come to my aid when you save them, that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones, that I may share in the joy of your nation and join your inheritance in giving praise." And the words written and dated, 9/9/01, "Halleluyah Abba - Yes, you are so tender" verse one, "Thank you," verse two, "not I Lord", verse three, "Fill me up today" and "only by seeking your will", verse four, "My prayer today" and "Yes Lord", and finally verse five, "Thank You Lord". For some reason on September 9, 2001 the Lord and I had a time of prayer and worship and it was important enough for me to record it. And yesterday's worship time was so timely and precious I wanted to share with you today. Let us pray - Abba Father, hallelujah and praise to thee, how tender are Your mercies which are new every morning. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-christ that you would show up in the most unexpected way today and she would lift her hands and begin to worship. Lord bless them richly with Your favor and may You come to their aid and may they enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones and may they share in the joy and join You inheritance in giving praise. In Jesus Name, Amen. Only by seeking Your will,

Welcome to the Month of April - Psalm 148

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, We made it to April of 2024! by that I mean we moved here in August, summertime and found out what fall and winter and now going into Springtime. I was looking for past photos of April and this one popped up on my screen. It was taken April 3, 2010. We lived in Hawaii and the house we lived in had a breezeway attached to the house and the garage. We covered the breezeway with screening material and grew our orchids. It was an ideal spot for them. It didn't take long for them to flourish in the shaded area. I do not remember the significance of this picture or who took it for me but remembering back to this time was wonderful. Also I had to rearrange my study room, which involved emptying my chest where my journals were kept. The last couple of days I have been reading through some of them and remembering times past and how far the Lord has brought us. Psalm 148 seemed to be the best Psalm to read this morning as I walk through this day. The first sentence of verse one to the last sentence of verse 14, "Praise ye the Lord." and all verses in between is all about praising. Praise ye the Lord; as I looked back through the journals and looking at the photos how faithful is my LORD that He has indeed brought us thus far and will continue to keep us and guide us and direct us and will never ever leave us through ALL the seasons of our lives. I hope that you take the time to read Psalm 148 and maybe reflect on your past adventures or experiences with Him at the helm. I especially like the two opening verses, "Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights. Praise ye him, all his angels; praise ye him, all his hosts." The psalmist starts at the beginning of life itself. the heavens, the heights, the angels and the hosts before he leads into the creation of the world. Our God, our Creator, our Sovereign Lord we give Praise to Him. Let us pray - Father, Abba Father this day we celebrate and thank You for our past April 3rds, our present April 3rd and our future April 3rds, for You are our Faithful and Loving Father who keeps us and loves us and supplies all our needs and inspires us to seek You above all else. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she sees You and hears Your whispers and Seek Your face and begin to shout, "Praise ye the Lord." throughout her day. In Jesus Name, Amen. Praise ye the LORD,
