Window Cleaning

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I hope that your month of March has been a blessing. In fact I hope each day that you arise until the time you go to bed that the day has been a blessing to you. I had to clean the windows of the front of my house because we needed to put up deer fencing to keep the deer from eating the tulips and spring flowers that were coming up. Because the fencing extends out from the house the windows would not be accessible to clean later. The windows were cleaned and we and proceeded to clean out the beds and put up the deer fencing. It took us two days but it got done. So back to the windows - as I opened the curtains and blinds I was surprised with how much could actually be seen! The sunlight that appeared in the house was so welcoming. On our window sills we have different knick knacks and assorted plants, which were easily seen too. Now don't get me wrong about my windows. I do clean them at least twice a year but still the harsh winter does take its toll on the outside windows. So what does cleaning of the windows have to do with my walking in Faith with the Lord? Well... I was looking through a dirty window and things had become dull and limited. Just like how the winter has been but now it is Spring! And the last couple mornings I have been reading in my devotional and these two words have caught my attention, "But God..." Yes, we have a God who is ever present and when He directs and shows us His Will and Plans it is like the windows (eyes) of our lives have been cleaned and so we can let the sun shine through and our perspective of looking out is exciting. Let us pray - Abba Father, We come before Your Throne of Grace and ask that You wash us clean and purify our minds and the things that we see are from Your eternal perspective. Lord, cleanse us today so that what we see is the eternal life with You. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she looks out at her day that it be an exciting and adventurous day filled with Joy and Peace and Hope. In Jesus Name, Amen. Looking Out,

Sounds of Life

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, As I begin this post I'm listening to the sounds coming through my window, it is that quiet this morning! The loudest is the plane that just flew over our house because we have a small airport close by and visiting physicians from the big city come to our clinic to help those patients who are unable to travel to get help with their ailments. And other sounds are the cars going to and fro, either for work or school. Yes, we do live on a busy avenue that connects to the grade and high schools plus directly to the downtown area. Sometimes I welcome these sounds for they are proof of everyday living and at other times when I want silence every little sound brings a disquieting to my senses. When you describe a sound, is it to describe a welcoming or a disquieting sound. Like the gentle breeze compared to a tornado, like the tinkle of a little bell compared to the gong of the cowbell, like the whistle of the small child compared to the whistle of the referee. Yes, sounds of music or waters or wind or vehicles or nature most definitely have dual meanings. For today, let us listen for the sound of the Lord's whisper. His whispers are beautiful and pure and always comforting, for His whispers are His Word directing, guiding, and leading us through the beginning of the day until the end of our day. Day after day HIS whispers are the sounds of life. Let us pray - Abba Father, Gracious and Mighty, Majestic and Beautiful, Beyond our Comprehension. Lord, thank You for Your sounds of life that give us Joy and Hope and Peace and Love. Lord, my prayer for today is that each dear and precious sister-in-Christ hear Your whispers and begin her day walking by Faith and Trusting in You for all the impossible things in her life. You have planned and purposed her life for this day and You will keep whispering. In Jesus Name, Amen. Do you hear HIM?

Turbine Windmills, Giraffes and Eagles

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, We had to go to the big city for a doctor's visit and thankfully the day was filled with sunshine and the roads were dry. We took the long way to get there but on the way back we took the shorter route. Nearing home we entered my favorite spot, and why is because of the turbine windmills that are scattered throughout the fields. I attempted three times to get an accurate count but it came up with a different number each time. As we were driving in the midst of them, some turning and some still I turned to my husband and said, "I don't know what I really like about them but what would make me very happy would be if there were giraffes roaming around under them and eagles flying around them." By the time I had finished my long sentence, I was indeed happy. Most of you know that my favorite animal is the giraffe and my favorite bird is the eagle and now my favorite structure is the turbine windmill and second is the big cranes. What do I see when I look at the turbine windmills? They seem to be standing tall against the wind and actually welcoming the turbulence of the wind for it uses the wind and captures the force of the wind. The giraffes seem unencumbered by what lies beneath them and looks at what is higher and they seem to be aware of things from a distance. The eagles soaring with the wind and gliding through the air they seem to be seeing something that others do not and at times I too want to be able to stand against that which buffets me and be unencumbered by what lies beneath me and be able to soar and glide above the earth. My dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, indeed we have a Savior, we have a friend, we have our Abba Father who created all these things. And He has given us His Spirit who is greater than any wind that causes chaos and greater than anything beneath us that causes us to stumble and greater than the currents that the eagle flies upon to deep it flying high. We have a God who lifts us up and buffets against the enemy. Let us pray - Abba Father, praise and glory and honor to Thee. Lord thank You that above all things You did not leave us but..., "the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." (John 14:26) Yes, Lord thank You for our Helper. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she looks to You and asks of You that her Joy would be complete and she can say with confidence this is what makes me happy (joyful), being in Your Presence. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Ice Fog

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, When I opened my curtains to greet the day - what did I see, an ice fog. I watched as it started to cover the tree tops then the roof tops and then it came closer and a covering of ice was coating all the ground and my vision was blurred for I was not able to see very far because the cloud was thick. I actually like fog - there is a silence within the fog that calms my senses. Yes, I cannot see through it and as it surrounds me, even the ice fog, I feel cushioned in silence. Do you sometimes need to have a cushioning of silence to settle your mind and anxious thoughts? Definition of cushion: softening the effect of an impact. I like that definition and I don't know when I have ever used that word, but as I am writing there was that word - cushion - and since I always ask for the guidinance of the Lord when I post and He provided the word - cushion then... Let us pray - Abba Father, Gracious and Mighty and Gentle and Faithful God. Thank you that You always and forever cushion us from the world. Lord may Your comfort cover us like how the fog comforts bringing a silence all of its own. Lord, whether it is an ice fog or a warm fog may it still the most anxious of thoughts and the erratic beating of the heart and bring comfort and a quiet peace. In Jesus Name, Amen. Being Cushioned,

The Month of March - Numbers 6:25-26

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Once again the first of the month falls on a Wednesday so we can begin the month off to a good start. And why do I say and think that? Well, spending time with you on Wednesday morning is more than a habit for me - it is a responsibility that I do not take lightly. When the Lord brings people into your lives for an extended period of time or even for a few moments He has already solidified the relationship. His love has each and every encounter a matter of the utmost importance. For He knows the hearts and when His heart towards an individual He goes to great lengths in order for that individual to benefit from His Best in every way. Do you experience times when you meet and greet a person that it is going to be special? So many times in my life this has happened and it is with each one of you. Yes, you who have entered my life are so very special and precious for the Lord connected us and when He brings relationships together trust in Him for it to be radiant and flourishing. Let us pray - Abba Father, Praise and glory and honor to Thee our Master Potter, our Master Gardener, our Master Shepherd. Thank you that You are the one who invites us into a relationship with You above all else. Lord I pray this blessing upon each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today, "the Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace. (Numbers 6:25-26)." Lord, may Your radiance permeate their whole being. In Jesus Name, Amen. May you shine brightly,
