Making Dirt

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, My husband has been "making dirt" for several years now. It was a must when we lived on the Big Island, Hawaii. Dirt was very precious because most of the land was lava. My husband concocted from table scraps to leaves to sawdust to store bought soil and even manure and made "dirt". It was his thing and as long as our vegetables and fruits were produced I was pretty much out of the loop for all these years, until yesterday. He has a good system going - a BIG compost drum and three bins of various stages of to be dirt. As I was saying, yesterday, he needed to prepare the compost to make the dirt for the gardens and the starter trees and plants. Usually he does this but because he was having problems with his left arm limiting him I decided to help. Wow, little did I know ALL that was involved in the whole process. Between the two of us the BIG compost drum emptied and refilled and two of the bins emptied and the BIG compost drum was filled with their contents. After the first bin was emptied and onto the next I got to thinking... God is so awesome! Everything that we take for granted - yes, even dirt - He created. And in the telling of it in Genesis God spoke it into existence. By the second bin being emptied I was hoping that He would speak, "let there be dirt". How wonderful is our God and yes I know I'm sounding a little silly but even in the making of dirt, He did it ALL. Thank You Abba Father. Let us pray, Abba Father, Thank You for the air that we breathe, thank You for the water that we drink, thank You for the sunshine and the moonshine, thank You for the rain and the wind, and thank You for ALL these things that we take for granted. Lord may we be totally and utterly dependent upon You for our ALL and our EVERYTHING. Lord may we remember that You are the Potter and we are the clay and in the process of molding us into Your image may we be still and know that You are God. In Jesus Name, Amen. In the process of being transformed,

My God, Whose Name is Jealous

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Definition of jealous - (of God) demanding faithfulness and exclusive worship. I find it very comforting to know that my God whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God (Exod. 34:14) - for in knowing that I am able to worship Him because He is, "the Lord your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with Joy, He will be quiet in His Love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy." (Zephaniah 3:17) Yes, my Lord whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. To me that means He is pursuing me constantly for His demand of faithfulness and exclusive worship is not like man's but it is so much more in intimacy and blessings and protection and loving. Two words - Joy and Love - yes these two words express such emotions and should for it is these two words that we need constantly. We need "Love" the kind of love that can quiet our mind and heart when chaos and doubt enter in and we need "Joy" for those times when only a deep sigh brings relief. So rejoice my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ for our God, whose name is Jealous, is indeed a jealous God and He will actively and fervently pursue you and me. Abba Father, O Lord, whose name is Jealous, thank You for loving me so dearly and thank You for rejoicing over me and quieting me with Your Love and Joy. Lord, I pray that these dear and precious sisters-in-Christ would bathe in Your Presence this day knowing that Your Love and Joy is Your way of "demanding faithfulness and exclusive worship." In Jesus Name, Amen. Thank You for Being a Jealous God,

The Month of May

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Welcome to the month of May where each day brings newness especially in nature. New buds popping up, new leaves showing off, even the mud caused by the rain is newness because it means that the soil is ready to be hydrated and all that has laid dormant for the winter can begin to grow. I have started to walk again and the path that I usually take wraps around two ponds known as the Frog Ponds, and also around a little forested area called Park Robinson. There is so much that averts my eyes to look and also my ears to hear sounds like birds flitting from branch to branch, ripples in the water caused by fish jumping or birds (ducks and geese) maneuvering through the water. Yes, it is a walk that settles the mind and reminds me that indeed God is faithful. Through the winter months when all was cold and life seemed to be nonexistent and those which were alive were in survival mode. Today I was ready in John Chapter 14 and verses 26-27 caught my attention, "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance ALL that I said to you. Peace I leave with you; My Peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful." So today's prayer - Abba Father, Thank You for the newness of life and also the newness of ALL things. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that through the Holy Spirit she would be teachable and allow the Holy Spirit to teach her ALL things, and bring to remembrance ALL that Jesus said to her. Lord Yes, Your whispers, and then may she absorb the richness and newness of Your Peace which You gave to her so long ago and continue to give and that she not be fearful of anything. In Jesus Name, Amen. All is Well With My Soul,
