Giving Thanks for Everything

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Over the last couple of months I have been trying to "downsize" some of the things in my mother's house. My daddy passed away February of 2018 and his things were still in the closets and bedrooms and other areas and since my brother started living with my mom due to her advanced dementia he needed room to store his things also and since he is very busy trying to manage his family and himself and mom I help in areas he doesn't feel comfortable. So Tuesday is mom's day - shower, lunch, and spending time with her so my brother can have a little time for himself. It started with daddy's clothes but then it extended to clearing some of the items that had been stored under the bed and in unused dresser drawers. My task was completed yesterday when I removed all the things from under the beds and dressers. It was exhausting and yet rewarding at the same time to try and sort things and not go down memory lane with some of the things. I would like to share the reward - In the top dresser drawer daddy had cards and papers and pens and assorted things - I was tossing them in a bag when I came upon a folded in quarters piece of paper - I laid it aside for some reason and finished emptying the drawer. I put the folded piece of paper in my purse to look at later - when I got home that afternoon I took the piece of paper and unfolding it I saw my dad's handwriting and on the piece of paper was written, "What is Christ to a Christian - EVERYTHING - E) Eternal with us forever, V) Victorious over death, E) Eternity with Him in heaven, R) Righteous with Him in ALL things, Y) YAH-WEH, T) Trust in Him, H) Heaven, I) Invincible, N) Near us at ALL times, G) Glorious with Him forever." I am thankful for folded pieces of paper and for the little things in life that our Heavenly Father gives us at just the right time and in the most unusual ways. May your Thanksgiving day be blessed and may you indeed give thanks for EVERYTHING. Abba Father, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that her life be filled with Your Joy and Hope and Love and Peace. And may Your Presence be ever evident in her life as she lives out her life with You. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings,

Blooming Plants

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Two of my four Christmas Cactus' are blooming and one of my Orchids has two stems with several buds ready to be opened as well; with a light dusting of snow on the ground and the outside trees and bushes leafless and colorless still I have inside buds and blooms. It is a good reminder for me today to remember what is on the outside isn't all that there is and with our God it is the same. Our outward seeing eyes and what they see pales in comparison to what is the reality of our lives. We are the salt of the earth and a light which shines brightly. Yes, what the Lord has given us is so much more than we can ever fathom and when we get a glimpse of something or someone that brings us Joy or gives us Hope or fills us with Love or gives us a sense of Peace it is Him in our midst. The Spirit of God present in our moments. This middle of the month of November Wednesday, the month of thanksgiving, may you find something or someone who is in your midst that allows you to grow and bud and bloom and flavors your life like salt and makes your heart shine brightly and thank the Lord. For it is Him, in our midst, who is constantly and consistently and faithfully and beautifully embracing us with His Presence. Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee, our Sustenance, our Strength, our Light, and our Hope. O Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she would open her eyes to see that the outside pales in comparison to the inside where You reside in her heart. May she begin to grow and bud and bloom into the person You have created her to be and may she be salt and light in her special place where You have placed her to be for this season in her life. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings and thank you my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Piles of Papers and Et Cetera -

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I have been putting it off for so long that whenever I walk into my study the piles of papers and etc. are looking more and more like the cones placed on the roads/highways. At different times of the year the bright orange cones seem to appear out of nowhere - I have seen the truck and on the truck are some construction crew members, yes I know this because they are also wearing bright orange vests, either gathering the cones or placing them in a line. So back to the piles of papers and etc. I have an excuse actually, I need more folders both for filing and hanging folders to place the file folders in. Maybe I will pick up both at the variety store but in the meantime I continue to place in different areas of my study. How about you? Do you have piles of papers and etc.? I know that buried deep in one of the piles is probably that contact number of the person I had talked to awhile back or maybe my unfinished to-do list that I had to try and recreate a few days ago. Yes, piles of papers and etc., looking at them as I came into my study this morning to post my Wednesday morning greetings, realizing that I should definitely do something about it today! In searching for a verse that would be applicable I found this - Colossians 1:6-7, "Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude." Yes in amongst the papers and etc. may be that reminder that is needed to be "overflowing with gratitude". those receipts or bank statements or cards/letters received or little slips of contacts or even your long lost to-do list. These little piles of clutter are indeed reminders of His Provision and Love and so much more. Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee! O LORD thank You for the little things that pile up in our lives and yes how rich is Your Mercy and Grace that Your involvement in our lives is every day. With You there are no miscellaneous piles for we have been firmly rooted and now are being built up in You and established in our faith. O Lord may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ be filled to overflowing with gratitude that her life is not just clutter but is Firmly rooted and being built up in You. May her so called piles of papers and etc., be a constant reminder of Your Goodness and Mercy. In Jesus Name, Amen. Having Been Firmly Planted,

The Month of Thanksgiving - Jars of Clay

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Welcome to the fully and abundantly month of November where Fall is celebrated and traditions are steeped in "being thankful" for... . Yes thankful that my life is not my own but it is the Lord's, who sacrificed His life so that I would be given a new life. Some days are harder than others to try and comprehend what my eternal life is in Him while living in the jar of clay. Yes, I am a lump of clay and He is the Potter who has shaped this clay into a jar. I am reminded of my aunt's basement where each year around November she would go down into the basement and pick out a jar of pickled beets or for a dessert, the jar of peaches that she had canned. For my first posting this third day of the 11th month the following verses seemed relevant to why I am thankful - Psalm 11:3, "If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?" and Psalm 3:11 "But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head." Proverbs 11:3, "The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the crookedness of the treacherous will destroy them." and Proverbs 3:11, "My son, do not reject the discipline of the LORD or loathe His reproof." In trying to comprehend what my eternal life in Him is like I must cling to the foundation - I am thankful for my life which is in Christ Jesus and also I must accept His discipline for He has taken this jar of clay and is fashioning and molding and purifying it in the most amazing of ways. Abba Father, thanking You that my life is Yours, that You give me a purpose to be thankful and have filled this jar of clay with Your Holy Spirit. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she will be thankful for her eternal life, which is in You and for this day celebrate and boldly proclaim that she is Yours. In Jesus Name, Amen. This Jar of Clay is Thankful,
