Blessed Thanksgiving - Romans 8:28

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purposes. Romans 8:28

This is a verse that you probably have said numerous times to yourself and to others. The words in this verse are so rich and powerful to us who are longing in our hearts to be thankful.

Giving thanks and being thankful - to different actions on our part.

Tomorrow is the proclaimed day, the last Thursday of November, to be celebrated as a day of Thanksgiving. A day of being together and eating and enjoying the day with loved ones.

As you gather with friends and family, as you prepare the food or have the food prepared for you, may your day of thanksgiving be blessed.

This is my prayer:

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee, oh Lord as we gather together may we know that You cause ALL things to work together for Good, yes Lord as we look around and think of things to be thankful for, may our attention be on You because we Love You, our God, our Creator, our Heavenly Father and Lord may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ worship You for we are the "those who are called according to His purposes." May their hearts be opened wide to see just how You are/have/will be "causing ALL things to work together for Good" and be filled with Your Peace and Your Joy and Your Hope. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Blessings,

I Need Thee Every Hour - Thankfulness

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Now that we are into the month of November with a couple of weeks until Thanksgiving I thought that an hymn would be an appropriate way of expressing praises of thankfulness to the Lord.

November being the month of thanksgiving and thankfulness and giving thanks and being thankful I found an hymn which I think is just perfect for this time of the year.

I Need Thee Every Hour by Annie S. Hawks, 1835-1918 and Chorus by Robert Lowry, 1826-1899.

I need Thee ev'ry hour, Most gracious Lord; No tender voice like Thine Can peace afford
I need thee ev'ry hour, Stay Thou near by; Temptations lose their pow'r When Thou art nigh.
I need Thee ev'ry hour, In joy or pain; Come quickly and abide, Or life is vain.
I need Thee ev'ry hour, Most Holy One; O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son!

CHORUS
I need Thee, O I need Thee, Ev'ry hour I need Thee!
O bless me now, my Savior - I come to Thee!

Yes, that is our prayer, O Lord, only by needing Thee every hour are we able to be, give, or sing, praises to Thee of thanksgiving. How precious O Lord art thou. Lord I thank You for each and dear sister-in-Christ and for Your tender voice that whispers into their hearts bringing peace which passes all understanding. Lord thank You for staying near them and that ALL temptations lose their power. Lord, yes whether in joy or in pain that You do come quickly and abide in ALL circumstances. And most of all Most Holy One, may they Be Still and Know that they are Thine, Thou blessed Son. I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Blessings,

Psalm 103 - Bless the Lord

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I have the dreaded "cold" that seems to arrive about this time of the year. I am also treating it with over the counter medication which leaves me just a "little out of it." I say this to you because why?

I am in need of some "hug me" time when I'm feeling out of sorts and the medication which I am taking stills the cough and also dulls my mind.

So for this Wednesday's posting I have chosen Psalm 103. The words are so powerful and wonderful and rich. If, while reading this post, you have the chance to open your bible and read Psalm 103, my prayer is that you would be filled with Him. Psalm 103 is all about HIM. What better way to be "hugged" than to say or sing if you prefer, praises to our Lord.

Abba Father, we come before Your Throne of Grace offering praises to Thee. Praises that David penned centuries ago and are still truth for today. Bless the Lord, O my soul. And all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of his benefits. Lord as these words are spoken from the mouth in silence or outloud may they resound in the hearts of every dear and precious sister-in-Christ today. May it be pleasing to Your ears. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Being Hugged,

Being Blanketed by the Holy Spirit

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

As I look out my front window this morning I can see that my across the street neighbor, who is an 87 year old lady, has already cleared the snow from her front door to the street. The sound of the snow removal trucks and smaller vehicles interrupts the silence of the large flakes of snow falling. As I continue to watch the snow fall, the path cleared is now being covered and unless she tends to it quickly there will not be a trace of her hard work from early this morning.

Does life sometimes feel that way? You have cleared a path, you have removed that which can hinder, you have taken care of it and yet all your hard work is being covered up once again. Do you sometimes say, "but Lord I have been working so hard on this."

Oh, dear and precious sisters-in-Christ how Gracious is our Lord, how Gentle is our Lord, that He is a God who knows the Beginning to the End and all the in between so as you work hard or if you ignore or if you wait He is in the midst of it all.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee our Great and Sovereign Lord. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit that keeps flowing through us. How rich is Your Grace that no matter the circumstances, the things that hinder our walk with You, the things that we have cleared away and yet come back again and again, Your Love poured out prevails. Lord I pray that each dear and precious sister-in-Christ keeps her eyes upon You and TRUST in Your unfailing Faithfulness and walk into her day being blanketed by the Holy Spirit. I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Blessings,
