Joshua 1:5

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

This past February was a very, very, cold month for our town. In fact, it was the coldest month ever according to the weather service records. And of course, along with the cold came the snow. Last week and leading into this week, I have been trying to remove the mounds of snow and the multi layers of ice in our side yard and driveway. The task seemed undaunting!! And when I left my house and visited my mother she was doing the same thing, which made my brother and I a little unhappy because she is 87 years old.

Anyway, in order to get to the problem, the ice, which was 3-4 inches thick, I had to first remove the snow. So with shovel in hand, starting at the top and layering down until I got to the ice, which was exposed to the sun.

I did all this because - when the sun shone on the snow it would melt and leave a trail across my driveway and during the night it would freeze and my driveway was an ice field.

Now you probably wonder what that has to do with the verse Joshua 1:5, "There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

We are the Joshua's in this world!!! Yes, the LORD has chosen us!!! We may think that at times that the task is too much. In order to reach the cold, dark iciness of people's lives or even ours we need to start at the top and taking layer by layer until we get to the bottom where the sun can shine its warmth can take a very long time. But..., we have the LORD!!!

And He is telling us that He will be with and will not fail nor forsake, Hallelujah!!!

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee our Righteousness. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that when she is facing a situation or a crisis or a task or even something she fears that she would hold onto your Truth that You will be with her and You will not fail nor forsake. May her days be filled with Your Favor and may Your Presence go before her. I ask all this in the precious Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, Amen.

Blessings,

Seasons - Spring

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I needed some medical attention so off to the big city, which is 126 miles away. Since the roads were clear of ice and snow was hoping that the drive would be pleasant. It was so got to put my wildlife seeing eyes on and was not disappointed at all. Sighted bald eagles, falcons, hawks, pheasants, wild turkeys, antelope, and white-tail and mule deer. There is one particular spot on the drive where a bald eagle rests on top of the telephone pole. The way he sits on top of the pole it seems to me that he is the sentry overlooking all who pass and bid them safe passage. I feel that if I see him sitting there that all will be well on our journey. In our seasons of life is there something that you hope to see that will assure you of safe passage?

Spring a season of sprouting!!!

Abba Father,

Thank you for the seasons in our lives, for those who have longed for the Spring to come may they be blessed with a new sprouting of the gifts that have lain dormant these passed few days or weeks or months or even years. May they feel the warmth of spring, the thawing of the cold and begin to sense Your Presence in their lives. May they begin to stretch forth in their hopes and dreams and ideas and imaginations and inspirations and ask for Your Peace and Power and Provision in their lives. Lord bless them richly in the season of Spring. I ask in the Name of Jesus the name above all names, Amen.

Blessings,

Your A, B, C's and God's Reply

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

This daylight savings time is somewhat taxing on my body, especially with the constant change in temperature. The last few days it has started out being 8 or 10 or 12 and rises to the mid 40's. Anyway my mornings are really slow getting started but am adjusting. How about you?

So I thought I would post some of the issues we probably deal with at some time in our everyday living and God's reply to these issues. Starting with the big one: Anxiety - God's Reply: "The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe." Prov. 29:25. The next one you probably wonder at times if God is actually blessing you well... "Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!" Psalm 40:4. The last one is sometimes the very hardest to muster up when we are in a situation where we would rather run than fight: Courage - "Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!" Psalm 27:14 and "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1.

All of you can add to this listing with God's reply to you specifically, for He is so wonderful and beautiful and intimate that He speaks into our hearts so richly and His Presence and His Power and His Provision and His Peace are unfailing and never compromising.

Abba Father, Our most Sovereign and Righteous LORD, the One who speaks and continually speaks into our hearts we give you all the glory and praise. Thank You for Your Reply's through the written word, thank You for the Holy Spirit who counsels and comforts and guides us. Thank You that Your ways are higher than our ways and Your thoughts higher than our thoughts. LORD I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she hear You speaking into her heart directing her next breath. In the Precious Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, Amen.

Being a Joy and Delight to Others

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I would like to share with you about my mom. She is 87 years old and has been diagnosed with dementia. Naturally me and my brothers were devastated. We were trying to deal with the loss of our father and mom had always been healthy and able to take care of our dad that she was overlooked all the time. Sad but true. It has been a little over a year since my dad has passed and now I am learning how to love my mom. Each greeting on the phone and each greeting face to face is such a delight. My mom is a Joy and a Delight to be around. She always has advice and tips on being kind and when she tells you something, even it is 10 times in a row, it is so sincere. Mom is adorable and sincere and lovable and kind. That is my mom!!!

I just felt that I needed to say these things this morning. So I guess with the telling of my relationship with my mom I would also like to be that kind of person who is "being a Joy and Delight to Others". Yes one who with each greeting on the phone or by social media and each greeting face to face is such a delight. I fail so many times and yet I will continue to strive to be a blessing unto others.

Abba Father, thank You and Praise You, Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that in her life she would be a woman who is "being a Joy and Delight to Others", may Your Light shine in her heart, may Your Holy Spirit empower her to be bold in her worshipping of thee, may Your Peace abound in her life that she is able to soothe the harshest of words, may Your Provision be enough that she is content in what she has and may Your Love surround her very fibers enabling her to forgive and trust. I ask in the Precious Name of Jesus, the name above all names, Amen.

Striving on Being a Joy and Delight to Others,
