Esther 2:12 A Year of Purification

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I awoke to this thought - "You are the daughter of the King, is that anyway for you to act?" Whoa, was my next thought and then the conversation started. The conversation lasted but a few seconds and how it ended was - me asking for forgiveness and asking for guidance. I asked for forgiveness because, until he opened my eyes to reveal to me my heart problem, I couldn't see it and I and to ask for guidance for I knew not how to proceed with this kind of knowledge.

Our God is so amazing - His words of conviction are so pure and true. The fact that He told me first that I was the daughter of the King. What a revelation to me!!

Seeking a scripture for today I turned to Esther, Chapter 2 verse 12, "Now when the turn of each young lady..., after the end of her twelve months under the regulation for the woman - for the days of their beautification were completed as follows: six months with oil of myrrh and six months with spices and the cosmetics for women.."

Esther (Hadassah) needed to go through the purification process of twelve months and my Heavenly Father has already told me that I am his daughter. When I received Christ as my Lord and Savior it was the blood of Jesus Christ which purifies me and cleanses me and it is His beauty and His fragrance alone that makes it so.

Abba Father,

I give you all the glory and all the honor for in You alone do I find that I am deeply loved and intimately known. Oh how precious are the thoughts You have toward me. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today, that she would hear Your Whispers of Love and may she fall on her knees and bow before thee and worship. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Beauty and Fragrance of the Lord

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

In an attempt to keep my pact (to stop biting my fingernails) with my granddaughter, which I made last September, I have been going to a manicurist.
Just having my nails done wasn't doing the job so I decided to add some bling to a couple of the nails. I'm liking it! I asked the girl how often she would recommend that I have my nails done and how can I keep them healthy. Her response was once a month and for the health of the nails apply cuticle cream a couple times a week. This is a doable plan for me. So off to the chain stores to find some cuticle cream. Finding a name brand I looked at the ingredients which covered the whole box that the product was in left very disappointed. A couple days later I visited our local ABC Stores and the sales clerk said that they don't carry cuticle cream but did have some cuticle oil. She directed me to the counter and I had several different choices of fragrances,(honeysuckle, jasmine, lavender, and lilac) my choice was the lilac. As I write this post I realize that I went to great lengths in order to break a bad habit of mine. The steps that I took were outward signs for me to see and remind me that biting my nails was not a good and healthy habit. I adorned my nails with beautiful colored polish and sweet smelling oil to keep them healthy.

This is my desire for the year 2014 - to adorn myself with the beauty and the sweet fragrance of the Lord.

Abba Father, Your Beauty is beyond description and the sweet Jesus how fragrant is Your Presence. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she would adorn herself with Your beauty which is beyond description and put on the sweet fragrance of Jesus as she walks through each day. Lord you give each of us 24 hours packed full of tender mercies may we use them wisely and seek until we find and ask until you answer and knock until you open and when we close our eyes at night may we be still and rest in Your Beauty. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Genesis 4:26b - Calling Upon the Name of the LORD

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Each year I start a new devotional along with a journal. Some years they are one and the same. This year for my time with the Lord he has directed me to read a Women's Bible Study Bible with historical references and other excerpts from Godly women intermixed throughout the chapters. I set a plan to read a chapter of an old testament book, a psalm, a proverb and then a chapter of a new testament book. I have more time to concentrate on the words being written and in yesterday's reading - Genesis 4:26 "And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. Interesting - that it was after Creation, the Garden of Eden, the Fall of Man, the births of two sons, the death and exile of two sons, and the birth of a third son of Adam and Eve, who then produced a son that "then began men to call upon the name of the LORD". What has to happen and how long does it take for a generation to begin to call upon the name of the LORD?

Abba Father, how marvelous, how wonderful art thou, coming before Your throne of Grace this day and bowing low with thankfulness and Your most precious and tenderest of mercies toward Your children. Lord, I pray that each precious and dear sister-in-Christ would call upon the name of the LORD and in the calling may You be found. Lord anoint them with Your beauty and Your goodness and Your power and Your gentleness this day. Give them strength to ask for the impossible and expect the miraculous in their lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.

The Beginning of 1:1's

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I just viewed a video which a fellow sister-in-Christ had sent me for the new year and I couldn't help but notice with the harshness of the winter of some of the scenes there was still beauty. The scene of the wild horses galloping through the snow reminded me of how wildly we at times run through each moment of our day. The scene of the swans so gracefully swimming on the water reminded me of how gracefully God equips us. The scene of the sun shining through the dark clouds reminded me of His promises. Yes, it seems to me that 2013 was a year of winter, of harshness and dark clouds. It seems to me that almost all the things I hear is that 2014 is going to be a good year. I pray so - yes I desire that God widens our borders.

Abba Father,

Praise and Glory to the You oh most Sovereign Lord may we not forget that "In the beginning You created the heaven and the earth." (Gen 1:1), may we desire Your truth which says, "Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful" (Psalms 1:1), to know the proverbs of Solomon the son of Dave, king of Israel (Prov. 1:1) and to have our eyes opened to see Your Son, who was revealed in "The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, and son of Abraham (Matt. 1:1). Oh Lord may it be the beginnings of 1:1's in our lives and may we want to hear all that comes after as we live out each day of our lives desiring to know thee more and more. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Happy New Year

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

It is so wonderful that the year 2014 starts on a Wednesday, don't you think? I just took down the Christmas decorations and the tables are empty and will be filled once again with pictures and other lay aside nicknacks.

My prayer for this Wednesday, January 1, 2014:

Abba Father, Thank you that once again You are blessing us with another day of Your tender mercies. Our calendars say that it is a new year but with You each day is a new day and You who never changes nor forgets constantly brings new blessings each and every day. I stand in awe of You my Lord. I pray that you would hear my prayer - may each one be anointed with your sweet smelling fragrance Jesus and may they go forth this day which you have made and be a sweet smelling aroma which stirs hearts to draw closer to thee. In Jesus Name, Amen.
