A Walk Along the River Bank

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

While growing up in a little town in Montana I was always close to a river that flowed and still flows through our town. There are connector bridges throughout the town and even places under these bridges to just sit and listen to the rushing waters. I remember that there were many times when I was lonely or sad or even madder than a hornet's nest that I would find a place along the river and (get whatever it was out of my system). I think that is why the sound of water is so soothing to and for me. This past Sunday I was reminded of the true source of Living Waters, Jesus Christ.

Abba Father, thank you for the times when nothing else will do but to go to the River of Living Waters. Oh most Sovereign and Holy LORD I pray for each dear sister-in-Christ that she would seek Your face, seek to Hear Your Whispers, and seek to find Comfort and Healing from the True Source. In Jesus Name, Amen.

I have come to the River,

In the Garden Moments

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Today as I settled into hearing what God had to say I was that much more aware of the sounds around me and how distracting they were. The myna birds on the roof having their little pecking order and the cars driving on the highway. Thinking to myself - why must they be so loud! Then I was reminded that I will recognize His Voice for He is my Shepherd and I am His. It was then that I envisioned being in a quiet place and having all the time I wanted to be with Jesus and this song I began to sing.

In the Garden -

I come to the garden alone, while the dew is still on the roses; And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses.
He Speaks, and the sound of His voice Is so sweet the birds hush their singing; And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing.
I'd stay in the garden with Him Tho the night around me be falling; But He bids me go - thru the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling.

And the chorus is my very favorite: And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own, And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. (C. Austin Mies, 1868-1946)

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to thee alone, may each dear sister-in-Christ have her "In the Garden" moments with You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

My New Hero - Joshua

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Our pastor has asked us to once again go on a 90 day journey and this time the journey involves being silent before the Lord (Listening to Him and Let Him Do the Talking) Simultaneously I started reading the book of Joshua - the guy that got to go on a scouting trip along with 9 others and only him and Caleb said to take the land - the guy that God said, "Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you" (Josh.1:5). God is really, really talking to Joshua and Joshua is learning to listen for God to speak before doing anything. And yesterday Chapter 10 verses 12 and 13 leapt off of the page for me. So Joshua is my new hero. He listened to God, acted upon His words and then had the faith to ask of God.

Abba Father, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she would come and sit at Your feet and listen - for You have much to say. May she choose to do those things that You know she is able to do because You have equipped her for such a time as this and may she have the faith to testify of Your Goodness and Faithfulness and Mercy. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until Next Week,

Are You Sure About This?

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I have been experiencing some pain in my lower back and after seeing my chiropractor I decided that a massage was in order. And last night was my appointment. After explaining to the massage therapist just where I was experiencing the most discomfort he began. He applied the pressure and massaged and stretched my legs and joints in all different directions. I got to thinking about this mornings prayer time with all of you and about my massage. This is just like how the Lord is with me. I come before Him and tell Him where the pain is and give it to Him. He applies the pressure and stretches me. If I trusted this massage therapist to not injure me or do anything that would cause further pain how much more I can trust my Heavenly Father, the Sovereign Lord of my life to take care of me and my situation or crisis or hurt.

Abba Father, thank you that You are my Yes and Amen. Thank you that You know the number of hairs on my head and that I am Your child. I pray for each sister-in-Christ this day and this week that Your promises of peace, protection, power, and provision would be evident in her life as she continually leans not on her own understanding but trusts completely in the knowledge that she is deeply loved by You Abba Father. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Until next week,
