Psalm 112:1-4 - A Model for Life

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I started swimming again after two years of not doing it. We live close to the Y (6 miles away) and the county road is an easy drive. I forgot how much I liked swimming and after a couple laps my body just took over, by that I mean the strokes and breathing was so easy. Before I knew it I had swam for 20 minutes and got out feeling very refreshed. I did it again yesterday for 30 minutes and now my arms are feeling it so taking a day off to rest my body. Just a little something to start off your Wednesday morning. I hope that the upcoming Good Friday and Easter will be a blessing for all of you as you celebrate the reason why we are able to do and live and breathe. I have chosen Psalm 112:1-4 for today's reading, "Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be might upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous." My dear and precious sisters-in-Christ as I peeked outside this early morning and there was a fog layer and the air felt moist on my body the first thing I heard were the birds singing and with their singing songs of praise it was then that my attitude changed from, "another cloudy day" to "yes Lord just like the birds singing this morning I will praise you." Our LORD is worthy of all our praise ALL the time and this being Holy Week may our hearts be filled with praises for He is faithful and gracious and glorious and mighty. Let us pray - Abba Father, thank You for Your tender mercies and richest blessings that You gift us with each and every day. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that her life be filled with Hope and Peace and Love. As she cries out to You whether in praises or need may You light her path and dispel the darkness that wants to always creep into our minds and hearts. I ask that You cover her mind with Your peace and ignite a passion within her that nothing will ever be able to take away. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings,

Happy Spring Day - Psalm 85:8-13

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, This being a leap year the first day of Spring, according to my calendar, was yesterday. Oh well, the 21st of March is still the day for me and since I was born on the 21st of December, the first day of winter, it remains. Just one of those silly things about me! Today's reading is Psalm 85:8-13, "I will listen to what God the Lord will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints-- but let them not return to folly. Surly his salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land. Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other. Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven. The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps." There is something about spring flowers; daffodils, tulips, crocus, and cherry blossoms that inspire me that yes "faithfulness springs forth from the earth" and what follows after that according to the verse, "and righteousness looks down from heaven." O, the great Love of our Sovereign Lord for He "will indeed give what is good..." We moved to this area in August and by the time we had settled into our new surroundings there was no time to plant spring flowers so this year I am enjoying the flowers of other yards. The 10th verse is especially inspiring for me due to the intimacy of the words. The LORD has blessed us so much for His love and faithfulness meet together; His righteousness and peace kiss each other." How great is our LORD! Let us pray - Abba Father, all praise and glory to Your name. Thank You O LORD that You are forever loving and faithful and that You will indeed give what is good. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that this day will be filled with Your love and faithfulness and righteousness and peace. May she see the goodness of the Lord in every area of her life. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings,

Rose Petal Covered Path - Psalm 100

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, The sunrise this morning is beautiful! The sun is shining through the morning clouds, which causes the rays to shoot high into the sky. It is going to be another sunny day. Last night I woke up with such a sense of peace with these words, "I have covered your path with rose petals." It had such an impact on me that I wanted to share with you how at peace I was realizing that my steps are ordered by the Lord, (Psalm 37:23). Sometimes I am walking through my day and the path seems covered by weeds and debris, which causes me to struggle and grow weary. But if I remember that the Lord has already planned and purposed my day, how sweet it is that He has covered the path with rose petals. O Lord, thank You for going before us and directing our steps. Psalm 100 seems to be an appropriate psalm to pray this morning, O Lord, may we make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. May we serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. May we know ye that the Lord he is God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. May we enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. In Jesus Name, Amen. Walking down the rose petal covered path with Him,

Welcome to the Month of March Psalm 115:12-18

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, The first day of March was our 54th wedding anniversary, the fourth of March was my aunt's 78th birthday, the 5th of March was my second mom's 94th birthday. In choosing a Psalm today I thought Psalm 115:12-18 was appropriate, "The LORD remembers us and will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel, he will bless those who fear the LORD --small and great alike. May the LORD make you increase, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth he has given to man. It is not the dead who praise the LORD, those who go down to silence; it is we who extol the LORD, both now and forevermore. Praise the LORD." As I celebrated 54 years of marriage I praised the LORD for His faithfulness and goodness, as I sang happy birthday to my aunt and second mom I thanked the LORD that they were still playing a big part in my life. Yes, the LORD has blessed them richley with many moments of His provision and His lovingkindness and tender mercies. Each day has its challenges and victories and still in giving thanks to the Maker of heaven and earth brings those into perspective, for it is in praising and thanking Him all the things of this earth are brought low and that is when You hear His sweet whispers or feel His embracing Love or experience His abiding Peace. Yes, our LORD has brought us thus far and He will bless us and make you increase, both you and your children. Let us pray - Abba Father, thank You that in Christ alone we are able to live out this day. O LORD, Maker of heaven and earth, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, that as she welcomes the sunrise that she will know this very thing, "The LORD remembers us and will bless us", and for many they have worshipped You for a long time and trust and believe that at the end of their day You will keep them in the grip of Your Grace. Lord, fill their hearts today with Your Hope and Joy and Peace. In Jesus Name, Amen. Thank You for remembering me,
