Attitudes and Actions

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, This being the last day of September, wow, how times flies by and as it flies by there are so many moments where our attitudes and/or our actions get in the way of ourselves. By that I mean - definition of attitude: A settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior. The meaning of action: The fact or process of doing something, typically to achieve an aim. Which leads me to today's passages; Phil. 3:14-15, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as are perfect have this attitude, and if in anything you have a different attitude, God will reveal that also to you." These are deep and rich words of truth that seem to resonate into my very being. For how many times have I had an attitude about something or someone but when it comes time to take action on that attitude sometimes I have a catch in my spirit or a feeling that if I act on that attitude it will not be wise to do so. If and when I think about it, it is God revealing that it was not the attitude that I needed to be pursuing. How merciful is our Lord that His Spirit in us is constantly and above all else guiding and counseling us through our imperfect every day lives and may our pursuit be this - found in Phil. 4:4-9. Our attitudes matter just as much as our actions in our thinking and in our doing. Let us pray - Abba Father, Praise to Thee and with a thankful heart may we always "be mindful" of our attitudes and may we before taking action remember we are the clay and You are the Potter; may we Rest, Trust and Listen to Your Spirit and as we take action that "I can do ALL things through Him who strengthens me. (Phil 4:13). Lord may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ rejoice in the Lord always. In Jesus Name, Amen. Being Mindful,

The Vastness of It All

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Looking outside my window at the first day of fall color of the sky. Here in Montana we are known for our beautiful blue skies and indeed that is very true for indeed the sky seems to reach from end to end and the bluer it is the more magnificent is the telling of the vastness of our God. For one is the colors, ALL colors seem to match the array of beauty whether in a flower or a tree or the dirt or the sky. A second reason is the vastness of it ALL. A person could get dizzy just standing in their front yard or alongside the road while looking up at the sky. A third reason is creation itself - ALL colors and shapes and sizes and diversity of textures seems to call out to your senses and either brings joy or fear. Hopefully all the days of fall and whatever is involved in your days ahead I pray that with each new day would come from the Lord new mercies. Abba Father, our Lord of Creation and our Lord who has each day planned and purposed thank you that You include us in it. Thank You that You embrace us each day and love us richly each day and never, ever forsake each day. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she walks into this day that it be filled with the vastness of You and the Beauty of You and the fragrance of You being permeated throughout her whole being. In Jesus Name, Amen. Grasping at the day,

Temptation Solution

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I may be the only one that does this but just in case I am not here goes, reading along in a devotional and a verse is referenced but instead of reading it in the devotional I must go to my bible to read it for real. There is something about reading the scriptures written in the bible, seeing it and maybe read another before and/or after and then return to the devotional. So how about you? A verse caught my attention this morning, "No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man: and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it." Do not fully understand why this verse resonated in my mind today, only God knows why! For His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways higher than our ways and thank You O Lord that these two things are my reality. Sometimes we are in a situation and in our confusion or doubt of it we can even not recognize it as temptation. It is just something that happens in life, right? But if and when you take a moment to "be mindful" of the situation and listen to what God is saying it could very well be a temptation and He has the perfect solution! Isn't He marvelous, great, faithful and generous at all times, that is our God. Let us pray - Abba Father, our Creator, our God who is Faithful, who is Compassionate, who is Glorious we come before Your throne of Grace and worship You this day. Thank You that You are with us and sustain us and give us solutions, and answers and also hope and strength, and Joy in the midst of anything and everything so we are able to endure IT. Yes, Lord "IT" is as vast and as wide and as different with every single person but "it" has limits and boundaries set by You. O Lord, may Your Spirit fill us up today. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings,

Good God Almighty

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, It is supposed to be the hottest day in September and the hottest day ever in our little town and actually in our whole state. So I am sure that there are going to be people saying, "good god almighty" and ending it in various ways. But for me, when I say or sing, "Good God Almighty" it is recognizing that I have a Good God and I have a God and He is the Almighty. As I glanced down at my bible for possible referencing, Jer. 1:6-10, and especially, verse 9, "Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, "Behold, I have put My words in your mouth,"". Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, yes indeed, He did! This Good God, this God, this Almighty God, stretched out His hand and touched your mouth. Just think - the Creator the God who is Good and the Almighty, stretched out His hand and touched your mouth, and said... . His empowering Presence! You have that, yes you do. Believe it or not, trust in it or not, have faith in it or not but it still doesn't change the truth of your life. His empowering Presence is everywhere and in everything and as such why fret, why worry, why try and come up with the words. He has already put His words in your mouth. So go ahead and shout or sing or quietly state, "Good God Almighty", for He has made this day and let us rejoice in it. Let us pray - Abba Father, our good and mighty God, thank You Lord for your empowering Presence and Lord I pray that today Your emplowing Presence would be evident in the lives of these precious children of Yours. Lord God, may You stretch out Your Hand and touch our mouths and give us Your words so that when we speak it is with Your Words that flow forth. In Jesus Name, Amen.
