Joshua 1 - Success, Failure and Courage

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, The last Wednesday of the first month of the year 2022 and still there is today. A day filled with God's tender mercies far exceeding our expectations and filled with a Love that knows no limits and unabashedly displays His love in the most indescribable ways. As I take from my bookshelf my oldest and most referenced bible, which has highlighted and underlined and dates written beside passages, I bow my head asking for the Lord's words and something caught my attention. It was a bookmark with the saying from Winston Churchill, "Success is not final, Failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." The bookmark was placed in the book of Joshua, chapter 1. The scriptures have been read and reread and talked about and even written on the tablets of your hearts. Our success and our failure in attempting to do anything without the Lord is purely and simply defined as STUPID. Yes I said it! Today, more than ever we need to trust and trust even more and then just when you think you have trusted enough still Trust in the one who went to the Cross and died with Your names written on the palms of His hands. He wants us to succeed and even in our failure He still is there and most of ALL He gives us the courage to continue (persevere) until the very last breath that we take. And the best of ALL is that He is with us wherever we go. So just as He told Joshua He is telling you my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ to be strong and very courageous and knowing that when you meditate on the very words spoken by Him that your way will be prosperous, and you shall have good success. What the Lord deems success and also what He deems failure even in that He gives us the courage to continue and that is what counts. For our rewards are great and exceedingly greater! Abba Father, Great is Your Name in ALL the earth and in heaven. Lord thank You and Praise You for today, and even if the day is filled with success or failure still I pray that the building up of each sisters-in-Christ's faith bring her courage to continue for that is what You desire of all of us. May she rest in her striving, knowing that her words and works are from You for her good and for Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings,

Kindness Matters

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Each year I buy or am gifted with a new journal/devotional and for Christmas my brother gave me a journal titled, "Kindness Matters", created by "With Love". The cover has flowers unfolding in aqua and coral with leaves in light brown and white. The colors are subtle yet comforting. The definition of kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate; and yes kindness matters. Besides, it is listed as one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. So if it matters and is one of the fruits of the Spirit then it must only come by the Spirit and not of the flesh. It is one of those qualities that is a must when trying to understand the frustration you are having with someone or something. As I looked at the words of the journal cover I knew that for this year I must seek the Lord's direction and guidance more than ever. I guess you could say that it is my new year's resolution! My prayer for today - Abba Father, Praise Thee in ALL things and give You thanks in ALL things. O Lord with each passing day may these precious and dear sisters-in-Christ receive and give Kindness. May opportunities arise in their lives where they see Your kindness being displayed in their lives and in the lives of those around them. Lord may that which matters, the eternal, the treasures stored up in Heaven be evident in their lives. Lord, we give You all the glory and all the honor. In Jesus Name, Amen. May Kindness be Displayed,

Psalms 12:6 - The Words of the LORD

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Barriers, closed doors, impossibilities, restrictions, etc. All kinds of words that seem to drift in and out of the mind whenever something is about to change. Our lives are ever changing and with that comes doubts, fears, uncertainties, and most definitely hesitation. A new year of getting older and with that comes many challenges, which is a very good thing. Preparing for the posts and searching through the Psalms found in chapter 12, verse 6, "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times." When I have been asked to pray for someone I pause because I want to seek the Lord for His words to flow through me as I come before His throne of Grace. Only He knows the circumstances and the beginning and the end! Only He knows what He has planned and purposed for that person's life. I want to know His words, which are pure words and have been tried in a funace of earth, purified seven times. Praying for someone, when asked, I must first only trust in the Spirit's leading and not lean on my own understanding. God's words spoken through another is an awesome responsibility and as long as He places me in situations where He has given the responsibility to intercede I must do. So what does that have to do with the beginning of this post - words - and then there are the words of the LORD. Big difference! Abba Father, thank You that You speak to us, that You are our life, our very breath each day. Praise to thee! Lord I pray, for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she lives out her daily life, one day at a time, one step at a time, one thought at a time, she will be filled with the words of the LORD in her life. Oh Lord indeed Your words are pure and only Your words do we want to hear and speak forth. Lord equip them today to ask for the impossible, for closed doors to be opened for the barriers to be torn down and for any restrictions to be unbound in her life. You know her intimately and deeply love her and prepare her for any and all changes that come in her life. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Isn't the Love of Jesus Something Wonderful!

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Welcome to the year 2022! Have you made any resolutions? Did you take inventory of last year before walking into 2022? Just a couple questions I thought I would throw out there. Two words stand out for me in the title of this post - "Love" and "Wonderful". In deciding what to write about I found in my bookcase a church hymnal and found this praise and testimony song written by John W. Peterson, "Isn't the Love of Jesus Something Wonderful!" Verses: 1. There will never be a sweeter story - Story of the Saviors' love divine, love that bro't Him from the realm of glory just to save a sinful soul like mine. 2. Boundless as the universe around me, reaching to the farthest soul away - saving, keeping love it was that found me, that is why my heart can truly say: 3. Love beyond our human comprehending, love of God in Christ-how can it be! This will be my theme and never ending, great redeeming love of Calvary. Chorus: Isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful, wonderful, wonderful; O isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful! Wonderful it is to me. Yes, the Love of Jesus, His Love which was, is and will be everlasting and ALL times and in ALL ways and always. And to add icing to the cake, a cherry on top, magnified a thousand times, in black and white, in living color, whatever cliche you can come up with, it is "Wonderful". Definition of: inspiring delight, pleasure, or admiration; extremely good; marvelous. Yes all these words and even more and at the same time it renders a person speechless - this Love of Jesus. Abba Father, Praise Thee and Thank You for granting us another year of experiencing Your Grace and Mercy and each day of this year I pray that every dear and precious sister-in-Christ experience and tell and live and shout and express and know this truth - isn't the love of Jesus something wonderful! In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,
