The Book of Joshua and Other Tidbits

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I know it is not the morning but it is still Wednesday for most of you. For some it is Thursday morning. The last few mornings my bible reading has been the Book of Joshua and each chapter is so GREAT!! This morning was Chapter 9. In verse 14, "And the men took of their victuals (provisions), and asked NOT counsel at the mouth of the Lord." A big OOPS, however in verse 15, And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them." Now was this another big OOPS? Just thinking out loud and wanted to include you in my thinking.

I am also getting excited about the solar eclipse that is happening - here in my small town we will have 90% viewing. I have already witnessed one solar eclipse and now getting to enjoy another is marvelous.

I visited my local Library day before yesterday and am going to really like visiting on a regular basis. They have a writing club that meets every Monday at 1:30 pm.

One last note: I have decided to be brave - how? The local swimming team (Sea Lions) and the aquatic center are having a fundraiser - a swimming marathon. It starts on Friday at 1:00 pm and ends Saturday at 1:00 pm. I raised my pledge money and have signed up for Friday afternoon at 1:30 pm and early Saturday morning at 1:30 am. I debated with myself about the 1:30 am time but after talking to the life guard who has done it before and encouraged me to do it, I committed to doing it. So many happenings and experiences.

Blessings to all of you. I delight in hearing from you and also am always encouraged and humbled by your thoughts, comments, scriptures and prayers.

Abba Father, thank You for Your Tender Mercies poured out each day and night into our lives. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she is awakened by You each morning that it is filled with Your overwhelming LOVE. Lord I pray verse 19 of Philippians 4, "But my God shall supply ALL your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus" and end with verse 20, "Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever Amen."

Application of the Word

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Two verses in the first chapter of Luke caught my attention this morning.

Verse 37: "For with God nothing shall be impossible." and verse 50, "And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation." His promises are so amazing!! To be able to dwell upon just these two verses for today will be enough meat to help me to continue to ask and to seek and to knock. All the things and stuff that surround our lives in light of verse 37, how can we not "be still and know that He is God." In thinking about all the things and stuff that can happen in a family and with family members, in light of verse 50 how can we not continually know that He is Keeping them. His WORD.

I hope that your Wednesday is filled with witnessing His endless impossibilities, which He is revealing, that indeed there is nothing to fear or worry or concern yourself with and I also pray that it will be filled with His tender mercies which are new every morning.

If you still have children at home or if they have left home and have a family of their own or even if you have been blessed to nurture your parents in their old age may you recognize that God will continually keep them.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee our Sovereign LORD. We come before Your Throne of Grace this day and proclaim these words found in Ephesians 1:3-5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with ALL spiritual BLESSINGS in heavenly places in Christ: According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Chist to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will," In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

TIME - A Day or A Period or A Season

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Time, precious Time! With 24 hours in a day it would seem that time would not be a problem, right? However, oh how I like that word instead of "but", my time is longer than 24 hours. How do I figure that - well, since it gets light here at 5:00 am and remains light until 10:00 pm - naturally my days are really, really long. My nights are way to short. Since I am light sensitive and need darkness in order to fully sleep these 7 hour nights are getting a little out of hand. There now that I have got that off of my mind and thank you for reading and hopefully some of you can relate to my dilemma. So now onto more important matters. I am referencing from the concordence of my NASB bible: Time (day, period, season) and selecting a few verses from the WORD.

Psalm 9:9 "The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed. A Stronghold in times of trouble;"

Psalm 31:15 - "My times are in Your hand..."

Hosea 10:12 - "Sow with a view to righteousness. Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground. For it is time to seek the LORD until He comes to rain righteousness on you."

Hebrews 4:16 - "Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of Grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

My dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I pray that your time, whether it be for a day or period or season, will be blessed with the tender mercies of the LORD. He does command that "we rejoice, for this is the day that He had made and we are to be glad in it" and that "each day is filled with His tender mercies".

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to our Great and Mighty and Righteous LORD, thank You for this time. Oh Lord may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, rejoice this day that You have given to each one and may she draw near with confidence to the throne of Grace and may she receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Only You Lord know her needs and as she draws near may those needs be answered in the most amazing of ways building her up in the Faith. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.
