I Need Thee Every Hour

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I hope that the month of October treated you well and that the many tender mercies, which God gives every day were revealed to you in the most gracious and wonderful ways.

Yesterday I developed a pain in my shoulder that has become an irritant because of that pain. My mind starts having thoughts of how in the world did this happen? How could I have prevented it? No answers were forthcoming. I would like to ask for prayer.

Today's posting I have chosen a hymn: I Need Thee Every Hour by Robert Lowry, 1826-1899.

Verses:
I need Thee every hour, Most gracious Lord, No tender voice like Thine Can peace afford.
I need Thee every hour, Stay Thou near by; Temptations lose their power When Thou art nigh.

Dear ladies many of you are already in the midst of your life today and I am just about to begin - my prayer offered up today for all of you -

Abba Father, thank You that You draw our hearts unto thee, Lord we do need Thee every hour and even more than that we need Thee every moment of our lives. Oh most Gracious LORD how merciful and mighty art Thou. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she would need Thee every hour of her life and in the needing of Thee she would abide in Thy Presence and be filled with Your Peace. In Jesus Name, AMEN.

Being Cultivated by the LORD

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Before I started this post this morning I decided to do some much needed weeding in two spots. Tackling the first spot was not a problem - there were very few weeds and mostly on the surface, which could be brushed off with a light touch. The way I like weeding to go - the process being fairly fast. Onto the other side I started to remove some grass cuttings that were from a couple of weeks prior. My husband had chosen not to use the bagger on the mower so the clippings ended up in odd places. I had meant to do it earlier. My thinking that there should be few weeds under the grass cuttings, and in two places such was the case. I reached an area that seemed to have accumulated a larger amount so grabbing the pile I discovered that it was not grass cuttings nor weeds but actually a flower. I stopped and saw the flower, a daisy that I had transplanted several months prior. How was it able to keep growing under all that debris?

I selected a book for today - Reflections of God's Glory by Corrie ten Boom - Chapter Two, "The Lord's Garden" she quotes Charles Spurgeon, "What a privilege it is to know that I am a field under heavenly cultivation - not a wilderness but a garden of the Lord, walled by grace, planted according to a divine plan, worked by love, weeded by heavenly discipline, and constantly protected by divine power. A soul, so privileged, is prepared to bring forth fruit to the glory of God."

I know that it is fall and gardens are for springtime, however just like today when I was weeding and discovered the budding flower among the debris I rejoice in knowing that I am indeed a field under heavenly cultivation.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to thee, thank You Heavenly Father that we are not a wilderness but a garden of the Lord, that You wall us up by Your Grace, and we have been planted according to a divine plan, that we are worked by Your Love, and heavenly discipline is how the weeds are removed and that we are constantely protected by Your Divine Power. Oh dear and precious sisters-in-Christ I pray that you would allow Him to cultivate you for His Glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.

When It Is Inevitable - Isaiah 41:10

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Three weather events are happening - lava flow is approaching a small communinity, winter advisory for the Big Island (snow on Mauna Kea), and hurricane, Ana, is fast approaching our coast. At last night's weather update, it is inevitable. We are continually receiving updates of the lava flow and now of the fast approaching hurricane. We are being forewarned of these not to cause us fear but to cause us to act. The fear does want to well up in me when I think of what might happen but I must settle my mind and start to prepare for the storm to come.

The life of the sinner and the saint is the same, we are forewarned of the inevitable.

As a sinner who has been saved by Grace and is now a saint may I fear not but rather trust in Him - Jesus Christ. (PROMISE) Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Many of you are facing the inevitable things of life today so may we come together in agreement and bring our prayer before the throne -

Abba Father,

Praise and Glory and Honor to thee, most precious LORD, we come before Your throne of Grace as little girls longing to be scooped up into Your Loving Arms and still our hearts. As we sit may all else pale in comparison - may Your Peace which passes all understanding prevail, may Your Presence remain, and may Your Power ignite our hearts in the knowledge that it is You who will strengthen and help and uphold us when the inevitable comes. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Romans 8:28 & Psalm 27:13

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

A coworker was in a moped accident last year, she was injured pretty seriously and it took many months to recover enough to be able to make it back to work and also to enjoy life again. She did have to sue the individual for damages and when her settlement came through she decided to improve her life by remodeling her condo unit, purchasing a new car and also taking a trip to the mainland. Her new car (smart car) arrived on island last week and she drove it to work. We (office coworkers and bosses) gathered around her new car (it is so adorable) and I made the remark about how God had turned this tragic accident into good things. She looked at me and agreed wholeheartedly.

When I arrived on the Big Island, I read "Just Enough LIGHT for the Step I'm On - Trusting God in the Tough Times by Stormie OMartian.

Chapter 8 Seeing What's Right with This Picture has the following scripture references: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the gooness of the LORD in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

I'm sure that many of you have Romans 8:28 as a memory verse - but today may you take in each word and hear the Whispers from Abba Father, the creator of all things and hear the TRUTH.

He is Goodness - "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to thee - we bow our head and our hearts before the throne of Grace and wait. May we hear Your Whispers today speaking into our hearts and minds and begin to see Your Goodness. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Ephesians 3: 14-21

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

The first of October and how appropriately that it falls on a Wednesday. There is something special about the beginning of the new month falling on a Wednesday. This is particularly special because I have just returned from my September journey with the Lord and what a wonderful journey it was. I'm thinking of making a collage of all the fulfilled prayers and whispered promises kept and the visions of things to come. Each day spent with the Lord was so extraordinary.

We are also entering into the season of celebration and thanksgiving and gift giving, which can be very stressful for all of us. I would like to begin this season with a prayer that Paul prayed for the Ephesians in preparation of the weeks ahead.

My dear sisters-in-Christ I have not seen any of you for a very long time but being in the family of God the physical isn't important. Our relationship is so much deeper and wider and higher so let me begin -

"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge - that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen."
