Psalm 107: 8 and 9

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Today I thought I would begin with a psalm. As I opened to the Psalms this is the one that spoke to me today. I pray that it will also speak to many of you as you walk obediently with the LORD.

Psalm 107: 8 and 9 Let them give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for men, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.

Oh most Sovereign Lord,
Yes, thank You alone for Your unfailing love, and thank You for your wonderful deeds. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she would drink deeply of Your living Water and open wide her mouth as she fills it with the Bread of Life. Oh Lord God may each one receive from You an anointing of the Holy Spirit which causes an eruption of Your special gifts freely given to each one. To those who are grieving the gift of JOY, to those who are depressed the gift of HOPE, and to those who feel alone the gift of LOVE. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Sitting at the table of the LORD,

Seven Nights and Six Days

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I was reminded of a float trip down the Missouri River that two of our children, my husband and myself took one summer a few years back. It was an adventure that still resonates in my mind of how awesome is our Sovereign Lord.

When we (my husband mostly, well really all of it) had planned this trip - we had enough supplies and gear - water, food, tents, first aid kits and other miscellaneous items. And of course we had our map. My parents drove us to the spot where we were to begin, helped us unload and arrangements were made where to pick us up 7 days later. Each day for us was an adventure - to be at the mercy of a river and nature while sitting in a canoe.

As we talk about it years later each one of us has a different memory of that float trip, some of them not as fond as others but still we have this to share amongst ourselves.

Come to think of it - it is like how we tell our story about our Savior and our walk with the Lord. We are afloat taking one day at a time. We have prepared ourselves, we have supplies and gear and our map.

There is a hymn, "Like a River Glorious", by Frances R Havergal & James Mountain,

Like a river glorious Is God's perfect peace, Over all victorious In its bright increase; Perfect, yet it floweth Fuller every day, Perfect, yet it groweth Deeper all the way.

Hidden in the hollow Of His blessed hand, Never foe can follow, Never traitor stand; Not a surge of worry, Not a shade of care, Not a blast of hurry Touch the spirit there.

Every joy or trial Falleth from above, Traced upon our dial By the Sun of Love; We may trust Him fully All for us to do - They who trust Him wholly Find Him wholly true.

Refrain: Stayed upon Jehovah, Hearts are fully blest - Finding, as He promised, Perfect peace and rest.

Abba Father, You are our River of Life, Lord thank You for Your most Glorious and Sovereign Riches. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that today she would begin again a float trip with You and each day experience Your Perfect Peace. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Day One,

An Island in the Pacific - Romans 8:38-39

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I live on an island located in the Pacific Ocean as far west as a person can be. To those whom I am writing to this morning - some of you live on the same island, others who used to live here have moved to a different mass of land and others I have met through different ways. And yet as I sit at my keyboard this morning God brings you to my mind as He is always faithfully does on Wednesday mornings. Oh, how Great and Sovereign is our Lord that He places each one of us in just the right place at just the right time that as the tapestry of life weaves itself together in the most intricate pattern He alone knows the finished design.

It reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle that my sister-in-law gave to my husband. The picture on the box is not the way it will look. The instructions are hidden in a story that is included in the box. You read the story and then you start to place the pieces (or should I say try, try, try) together.

For those of you who are indeed wondering or possibly doubting that you are where you are supposed to be I pray for TRUST. For those who are trying to fit the pieces all together I pray for PERSEVERANCE. For those who have given up I pray for a renewed PASSION.

Abba Father,

We gather together as your dear and precious children and worship You. Oh, Lord where else can we go but to You, oh Sovereign Lord. Praise You above all the else oh Lord and no matter the circumstances or the situations or the crisis may we in one accord look upon the Cross and proclaim as it is written, "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39

I am but one thread in the tapestry of life who is deeply and intimately known by my LORD,

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I know that I am a little late is getting this posted this morning, I have been resting. I started feeling a little sickly last week and went to the doctor on Monday and he confirmed that it was a sinus infection. He ordered bed rest for the next two days given the stress that I have been under these past three months. At first I told him that I really couldn't afford to take the time, but he insisted. I called work and told them that I was staying home and faxed them the doctors excuse slip. After picking up my medication I went home and straight to bed. The next morning, being Tuesday, reading in my devotional, God was telling me that he has set this time aside that I would draw closer to him, and as I did He would take care of all the rest of the details of my life. I was to seek His Face.

I started reading Matthew and still am, one of the verses that called out to me was, Matt. 6:22, "The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light." Right now my eyes are not very clear - because I am taking medication I know that but also I know I am only seeing dimly but it will all be revealed when Jesus Christ returns.

Abba Father, Gracious and Mighty Sovereign Lord, thank You that when we seek Your Face You reveal the miraculous and the untold mysteries of old. Lord I pray for each precious sister-in-Christ, whom You love deeply and intimately would seek Your Face, desire none other, Oh Lord and when she does You would anoint her with Your Spirit to become the woman You have planned and purposed her to become since the foundations of the world. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Seeking His Face,
