Psalm 148 - Praise the LORD

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I want to thank all grocery owners for greeting me with flowers as I enter their store. And especially now when I am missing the fragrance and the array of colors of flowers and vines and stems that surround me as I first enter. I have to admit my lingering is often more for my mental state than to purchase. It makes the task for searching through the isles for what is on my list that had been prepared maybe several days ago. In fact, just trying to find a parking place makes the stress of going in much higher. But after gathering a cart and entering in I am met with flowers and plants, rows and rows of them, some in buckets all bunched together and some in pots ready to be taken home. Can you guess that I am ready for winter to be over? But alas, I must wait! Once again, I am in the waiting room. There are many in the waiting room as the winter season seems to linger on and on. If one or some of my dear sisters-in-Christ are in the waiting room - waiting for an answer, waiting for a change in the diagnosis, waiting for the loved one to come home, or even waiting for the night to end let us gather together and meditate on Psalm 148 - "Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens; Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; Praise Him, all His hosts! Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all stars of light! Praise Him, highest heavens, And the waters that are above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the LORD, For He commanded and they were created. He has also established them forever and ever; He has made a decree which will not pass away. Praise the Lord from the earth, Sea monsters and all deeps; Fire and hail, snow and clouds; Stormy wind, fulfilling His word; Mountains and all hills; Fruit trees and all cedars; Beasts and all cattle, creeping things and winged fowl; Kings of the earth and all peoples; Princes and all judges of the earth; Both young men and virgins; Old men and children. Let them praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven. And He has lifted up a horn for His people, Praise for all His godly ones; even the sons of Israel, a people near to Him. Praise the LORD! This is my prayer. Open yours eyes and see,

O LORD God Gracious and Mighty

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, For some reason this past birthday I came to the realization that I am getting older. Now while I was contemplating this fact some thoughts ran through my head. How is it that it is this birthday that I have come to this conclusion? Why do I feel older today? And since I have been told many times that the answers to your questions are found in the bible, so searching I went. And guess what - there were five! Psalm 92:13-14, Proverbs 19:20, Isaiah 46:4, Psalm 16:11 and Psalm 71:18. All of them were choice nuggets for me to gnaw on and to bring me the sustenance that I needed to relieve of my fears and doubts, but the one I took hold of was Isaiah 46:4, "Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you." Yes, our LORD God is gracious and mighty. I am not ready to slow down and thankfully I am still limber and steady enough that the things I enjoy - walking and gardening - are possible. But I also know that many are no longer able to do the things that brought pleasure to them, so don't fret because these following verses may apply to your walk of faith. Psalm 16:11, You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." and Psalm 71:18, "...when I am old and gray-headed, O God, do not forsake me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to everyone who is to come." Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, you all are His Beloved and treasured by Him. You are valuable and worthy in His eyes, and He will keep you and embrace you and nourish you forever and ever. In Jesus Name, Amen. Soaked in His gracious and mighty Love,

All Things Are Possible With God

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in Christ, How comforting and hopeful are these words, "all things are possible with God." With the cold snap I am experiencing in my part of the country and the fires that are raging in another part of the country it can be so hard to visualize that God is in control and that He is Sovereign and that all things are possible with Him. People are offering up prayers for warmth and rain and that the winds would STOP. Those who have lost everything and those who can't seem to get warm are crying out to the Lord for His mercy and grace. The world would have us believe that if we only did this or that then it would be okay. I do not want to make light of all the destruction and devastation that seems to be happening. For those who are going through these tragedies and for those who are going about their everyday lives because they are not affected by what is happening somewhere else, we still need God. We need Him and continue to strife to be His witnesses throughout our lives. He is still in Control and still Sovereign and still creating miracles in our lives. Psalm 17:8, "Keep me as the apple of the eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings...", yes Lord as I walk into my day, wherever You have placed me to be, may my prayer be this. Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to the Lord of lords and King of kings. Thank You oh Lord that whatever we are experiencing in our lives and however You chose to bless us and provide for us and protect us I pray that each dear and precious sister-in-Christ persevere in prayer, keep asking and seeking and knocking and remember these words, "all things are possible with God!" (Matthew 19:26). Lord, my prayer is that You would keep them as the apple of the eye and hide them in the shadow of Your wings. In Jesus Name, Amen. He is Sovereign,

Zephaniah 3:17 - The Lord Your God is in Your Midst

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, The last verse I read before going to sleep was Zephaniah 3:17, "The LORD your is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will Exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy." If ever there was a reason to walk into 2025 with confidence and an assurance that life is going to be an adventure. Each day will be filled with The LORD your God who is a victorious warrior. And will He is doing is beyond all that you could ask or imagine. He exults (to express great pleasure or happiness), yes this is Him and it is over you with JOY and at the same time He will be quiet in His Love. I am thinking of myself on this one, my expressing love can be rather taxing on some people, for I tend to run amuck! He rejoices over you with shouts of joy. This reminds me of times spent with my children and grandchildren and just being in their homes or being engaged in something they are passionate about, I cheer them on to encourage them. New Year's eve was spent at my son's house and we played a couple board games. So much fun and shouts of joy when someone won but especially if my son or grandson won. Back to the verse - the words I glossed over at first was the fact that He is a victorious warrior! There is no losing when He is in our midst. Let us pray - Abba Father, our LORD who is a victorious warrior and in our midst. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that her heart, soul, and mind will remember with each breath that they take You are in her midst and when she is hurting or failing or excited or rejected or accepted that still You will exult over her with joy, You will be quiet in Your love, and You will rejoice over her with shouts of joy and may they be heard and felt by all those who she comes in contact with. In Jesus Name, Amen. Do you hear it?

Stepping Into The Year 2025

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, How lovely that I get to spend my first day of the year with all of you. The coming of 2025 was like waiting for your first baby to be born. You know it is going to happen and you even have times of excitement knowing that you are to soon be a mother and at the same time knowing that becoming a mom is a very scary thing. One reason is that you haven't ever experienced anything like this. Yes, you have read the books and talked to family and friends but still this is going to be something that only you will be experiencing. So stepping into the year 2025 is something like that for me. This is the first day, your child has been born, the nurse comes in and hands you your child. What a gift you have just been given! As it begins to stir in your arms and as you look down on your child the joy that your heart has overwhelms you and with that comes a love that you have never known or experienced before. Today is the first day of 2025 and what a gift I have been given. A new day to experience and witness and live out. A new day of challenges and decisions and distractions and yet... Yes, there is a yet, we as believers have the greatest gift included in this new day and the subsequent 364 days following. We have the Lord who has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is our constant. He provides and gives and guides and fills us up with Himself. Unlike your child whose needs have to be taken care of and his every comfort comes from you, the Lord provides us with all our needs, His love is unconditional, and His mercies are forever tender. This year of 2025 is from Him and He knows what is to come each and every day. And He has also said that this is the day that I have made, rejoice and be glad in it. Let us pray - it is written, "Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed by Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." (Matt. 6:9-13). Happy New Year my dear and precious sisters-in-Christ. And may each day be as it is written. In Jesus Name, Amen. Opening my gift,
