A New Scarf
Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,
I thought I might share one of my adventures! It involves meeting a beautiful lady on the plane and a gift of a scarf. The story begins with an answer to prayer. It had been a few years since I had traveled and the first time in many, many years since I had traveled alone. I was hoping to sit next to someone who would be friendly to ease my stress of flying especially the take off and landing. The arrangements had been made through a travel company from an organzation that my husband had founded back in the 80"s. The first leg was from Dayton to Denver. When I got on the plane and found my seat I was sitting next to a woman who had dark brown curly hair. She helped me in finding my seatbelt which was stuck in the seat and her voice was so sweet. As we were taking off she reached over and touched my hand that was gripping the handle. It was then that I knew my prayers had been answered and we started chatting. I complimented her on her beautiful curly hair and it was then that she told her story about how God had been with her the previous year. I asked her if I could pray for her and she readily agreed. Then I shared about my loss and why I was flying to Las Vegas. About mid flight she noticed that I was wearing a scarf and explained that she always wore them because of the warmth of them around her neck. She also shared that she had so many that her husband told her that she could not buy any more unless she gave one away. And she was very much interested in buying another one and was having a dilema about it. For some reason I told her that I would take one. She looked at me and said yes I have the perfect one for you. We exchanged contact information and a couple of weeks ago received a package from her. Hopefully we will be able to meet again and of course with the technology of cell phones we are only moments away from connecting. It indeed was an adventure - an answered prayer, a divine encounter, and a scarf sent and received with delight and thankfulness in the meeting.
Let us pray - Heavenly Father, Gracious and Kind and Merciful, O Lord, Praise to thee for divine encounters the ones that bring Joy and Hope and Your Presence. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she wakes up and takes that first breath and wonders what her day will bring may she have an adventurous day just knowing that You are her Creator. In Jesus Name, Amen.
Thankful for adventures in life,
LyndiaSue
