Psalm 29 Ascribe to the Lord

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, My calendar has two events that are being celebrated today - Ash Wednesday and Valentines Day. These are both celebrated in the secular and church worlds in various ways with the continuation of Ash Wednesday being the first day of Lent. And by calling them events in no way am I trying to diminish the significance of each celebration. In fact in reading the 29th Psalm the significance of Ash Wednesday and of Valentine's day celebrations came alive to me. We fast and pray and sacrifice and we show love for others not only on these days marked on the calendar but all the time so for today as we do just that let us ASCRIBE to the LORD, for He is..., just as the Psalmist pronounces. Let us give all the glory and honor to our First Love and let us fast and pray and sacrifice because ALL that we have been given and will be given comes from Him. May this be our worship - Psalm 29, "Ascribe to the Lord, O sons of the mighty. Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in holy array. The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; The God of glory thunders, the Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful, The voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; Yes, the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, And Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord hews out flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness; The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer to calve and strips the forests bare; And in His temple everything says. "Glory!" The Lord sat as King at the flood, Yes, the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace." Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, this is our Lord! I pray that as you celebrate Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day that it is unto the LORD. In Jesus Name, Amen. Worship the Lord in holy array,
LyndiaSue
