Welcome to the Year 2023

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, The first Wednesday of 2023 and here we are together to ponder on things. I received two gifts this Christmas - the first, from my brother, a 2023 Thomas Kinkade Engagement Calendar with Scripture and the second, from my husband, a devotional titled, "He walks with me - taking the hand of the One who never lets go", by Carol Kent. These two gifts are the only thing that I would call as traditional, for each year, I start off with a new calendar and a new devotional. The scripture reading for January, "Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established." (Proverbs 16:3) This being a new year and not a new month it seems appropriate to start it out very simple and how simple can it be to commit thy works unto the LORD. He has already given us the works and He has already gifted us with the various talents to accomplish those works so by committing your works naturally your thoughts shall be established because they are on a firm foundation. (Ephesians 2:10) For some of you there have been changes that have maybe shaken your faith or situations where you can't remember why you made that choice but still, "commit this day unto the LORD." He will do the impossible! He will Speak! Let us pray - Abba Father, our Great and Gracious and Glorious Father, Praise to thee and Thank you for each and every day of this year. Lord I pray that as we commit our works unto You that our thoughts shall be established and that at the end of each day we will be able to say, "it is well with my soul" for LORD You are our GOD. In Jesus Name, Amen. Committed to the One Who Listens and Speaks,
LyndiaSue
