Inviting in a New Year

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, I pray that your Christmas was blessed with precious moments and in the midst of those moments hopefully reflections of the tender mercies of our Lord. I still have my tree up and all the decorations and traditionally take them down on New Years Day. Such will be the case this year also. And as I do so I ponder the old year and the new year. I am being faced with a two-fold challenge and while I fill my head with thoughts of this and that I came across an old photo taken a few years back when I also was facing some challenges in my life. My husband and I had some decisions to make so we decided to take a trip to the Big Island and stayed at a bed and breakfast which was an oasis for us and God directed us in many ways to making the decisions that He had planned and purposed for us. Then when other things came up in our lives I once again visited the bed and breakfast and took some pictures of the property. The photo attached is how I want to enter into the new year. I have titled this post as "Inviting in a New Year" instead of "Ringing in a New Year". I pray that as you put away the Christmas decorations and take down the lights and looking forward to a new year that... Abba Father, our Savior, our Wonderful Counselor, our Mighty God, our Eternal Father, our Prince of Peace, Praise to thee. Lord, I pray this day for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she "invites in a new year, 2022, her life will begin with such treasured "Peace" and Your Love and Joy and Hope. May she ask and seek and knock, may she thirst for the Living Waters, may she hunger for the Bread of Life, and may she desire above all things to lean not on her own understanding but to Trust You in ALL. In Jesus Name, Amen. Faithfully and Prayerfully Inviting in a New Year,

Isaiah 9:6 - Eternal Father

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Two greetings received and given these past few days - Are you ready for Christmas and Merry Christmas. These past December greetings have been found in Isaiah 9:6, which reads, For a child will be forn to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. This is the baby which was born, Jesus Christ - Eternal (lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning) Father (the first person of the Trinity - God). There are three other definitions of Father (the oldest or most respected member of a society; a man in relation to his natural child or children; a man who gives care and protection to someone or something) Several years back I led a bible study and one of the lessons was on relating to God as to your earthly father. I was given several comments that I needed to ponder on because I had an earthly father whom I cherished and knew he cherished me too. It was a precious lesson that I learned from my friends - the Eternal Father - how blessed we are to be called the children of the Living God. Yes, Jesus Christ, Immanuel, God with us our Eternal Father who is lasting or existing forever; without end or beginning; the first person of the Trinity. So are you ready for Christmas and Merry Christmas to each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, Abba Father, Praise and Glory to You our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father and Prince of Peace. LORD may ech dear and precious sister-in-Christ see You and see herself as You see her. Lord more than ever this Christmas needs to be filled with more of Jesus Christ our Wonderful Counselor who gives and directs us through the pain and grief, our Mighty God who does the impossible and miraculous, our Eternal Father who is without end or beginning and our Prince of Peace who gives us the peace which passes all understanding. Lord may we celebrate this birth of Jesus Christ and Proclaim Your Goodness and Kindness and Gentleness and LOVE and JOY. Merry Christmas my precious,

Immanuel - God With Us

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Once again we are blanketed with several inches of snow and with that comes the different sounds of winter. The sounds of the big trucks with super blades to sweep away the snow and followed by the big dump trucks dumping sand at the stop signs to make sure the ones who need to get to work or school are able to maneuver around town. Also the sounds of motors running for at 16 degrees it takes several minutes to warm up your car before heading to your destination. Even though the sounds are loud and thunderous they are also comforting because it is for safety reasons. So what does that have to do with Christmas, you are probably asking yourself as you read, well... The very nature of Immanuel - God with us - the name given by the prophet to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord, is a sound like none other. Immanuel - God with us - is a whisper, rushing waters, thunderous winds, and mighty. The voice can raise the dead, cause sinners to walk away, tell the woman at the well, cause fish to gather in the nets, cause the water to be turned into wine. As we ponder this Christmas season, may we remember why we rejoice and tell others and join in the celebration and give gifts is because of Immanuel - God with us in All things and in All ways. Abba Father, may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ believe and trust that Jesus, Immanuel, which means God with us in a sound which is pleasing to the ears and a sound that settles the mind and quiets the beating heart. May her day be blessed with Your Gentleness and Kindness and Goodness. In Jesus Name, Amen. Opening My Ears to the Sound,

Luke 1:49 - Mighty God

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, This Wednesday we will be listening in on a conversation between Mary, the mother of Jesus, and Elizabeth, her kin and the mother of John the Baptist, found in Luke 1:39-49. Verse 49, "For the Mighty One has done great things for me; And holy is His name," Our Lord is the Mighty One, who has done great things for "me". Imagine, if you would, just how mighty is our God. Definition of mighty: possessing great and impressive power or strength, especially on account of size; extremely. Yes our God is mighty for His Power is Great and His Size is unfathomable and everything He is and does is extremely. ALL the things He has done - just as Mary said, "For the Mighty One has done great things for me," that is the tip of the iceberg of how Mighty is our God. As the days are drawing closer to celebrating Christmas may each day be a day of exclaiming how mighty is our God. So Mighty that Nothing - No thing is Impossible! Abba Father, we exalt You O Lord, Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, that as You awaken her each morning and tenderly close her eyes at night that she would exalt You and may her spirit rejoice in God her Savior. May she be overwhelmed with "extremely". Lord You are the Mighty One and Holy is Your Name. In Jesus Name, Amen. Eyes Transfixed on Him,

Prince of Peace Is Coming

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Welcome to the month of December. A joyous month indeed! While the world seeks to find the perfect decoration or the perfect gift or even the perfect place to be during the holidays, we who know the reason for our peace in the midst of all things, are longing for the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6, "For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." How many times during your day do you desire to have just a little peace and quiet? We have been experiencing high wind warnings off and on for the last three weeks. High wind warnings - winds 35-45 mph with gusting to 60+ mph. It is unsettling to me and to others when the winds are causing things to be stressed and begin to unravel. If I'm not at peace with something it is like that - stressed and unraveled. I hope that as you begin this season of decorating and shopping and making and baking and preparing for friends and family that you would first and foremost ask the Prince of Peace to begin and end your day. Abba Father, Praise to Thee that just at the right time You will appear. LORD I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ would begin her day and end her day with Your Peace, the Peace which passes all understanding. In Jesus Name, Amen. Peace be Still,
