1 Kings 17 - 2 Kings 2 - Elijah

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I awoke this morning with a picture in my mind - sitting in a church pew watching the set up of a scene - as I looked at the scene someone was telling me it was the story about Elijah. I remembered thinking to myself that I really liked Elijah. So this morning I am revisiting the story of Elijah.

He is introduced as...
The Word of the Lord came to him...
He is led...
He called to the Lord...
He showed himself...
The hand of the Lord was on...
He was afraid and arose and ran for his life...
He lay down and slept...
And Elijah went up by a whirlwind to heaven...

What a story! How about your life?

We each have a life that is truly amazing for in the telling of it many who are interested and listen are encouraged or inspired or excited or filled with compassion or even taken aback at how you managed to survive or even persevere. Yes, you, my dear and precious sister-in-Christ.

If you haven't already shared your life's experiences with someone you will eventually do so and when it happens do you, like the story of Elija, have...

Abba Father, Creator and Sovereign, Praise to Thee for All things great and small, visible and invisible, hallowed be thy name. LORD, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as her day unfolds may it be filled with Your Presence, Your Peace, Your Power, Your Provision and may she begin it with Praises and Prayers lifted up to the one who is sitting at the right hand of the Father. May the name of Jesus be upon her lips and may the name of Jesus be proclaimed. I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.

My Life is a Story Still Being Written,

In The Beginning

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Yesterday we had to drive 126 miles to the airport to pick up our granddaughter who is staying for a few days. To pass the time quickly we listened to some devotional music. One of the songs was from Chris Tomlin, “Indescribable.” One of the verses was, “You have placed the stars in the sky and named them all” (paraphrase). That got me to thinking, which led me to these two verses this morning.

Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

All the things that are said and that happen or can happen in a day seem to take over our lives but if we were to remember “in the beginning,” our lives would be so good.

At times this seems to be so far away from reality however it is the TRUTH. We had a beginning...

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor, Oh LORD thank You that our "beginning" was and will always be GOD and the "WORD". Oh LORD may each dear and precious sister-in-Christ adamantly proclaim and at the same time adamantly cling to the TRUTH. Lord I pray that her day would be blessed so richly and filled with such beauty that she is overcome with JOY that is indescribable to the seeing eye and the hearing ear and that the beating of her heart would be sweet worship to Thee. I pray in the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Blessings,

Gold and Silver and Precious Gems

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Gold - a yellowy precious metal
Silver - a precious grayish-white metal
precious - very valuable - gems - a precious or semi-precious stone

Psalm 19:7-10 "The law of the LORD is perfect..., - More to be desired are they than gold, yea, much fine gold;..."
1 Samuel 3:1 "... And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision."

My thoughts this morning as I began to post this prayer - how richly we are blessed for we have "the word of the LORD" that binds us together. We are precious (very valuable) in His sight. As we look upon the visible things like gold and silver and precious gems there is so much more in the unseen things like faith and hope and joy and peace and healing and eternity.

Yes, you are precious, more precious than you will ever know or comprehend in your lifetime. And still He will love you ever more.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee. Lord thank you that you are our GOD, our Sovereign LORD above all else. Lord I pray today that each dear and precious sister-in-Christ would open her eyes wide to see Your Glory and open her ears to hear Your Precious Words. Lord may she be still and know that you are God and that each moment of her life is precious. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Blessings,

Isaiah 25:1

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Your day has started off with... . This statement could be finished in as many ways as the sand upon the shoreline. And yet there is still a TRUTH that remains the same - Isaiah 25:1, "O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth."

In the midst of the devastation, in the midst of the pain, in the midst of the grief, in the midst of the jubilation and in the midst of the..., He is "my GOD".

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Thee. Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that in her everyday life that she would boldly proclaim the words written - "O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth," and draw closer to thee and walk in Your Love and Hope and Joy. Lord, be present in their lives as they face the challenges and victories as they walk with thee. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Blessings and I would love to pray with and for you,

A New Year - 365 Days - 2020

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Welcome to 2020!! I look at the numbers 2020 and I am filled with Hope. Three hundred sixty-five days of being filled with hope. It is not just a word that we haphazardly speak out. It is a word that is a promise from the LORD.

Words of Truth:

Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.

Lamentations 3:21-23 - This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. The LORD's Lovingkindness indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Romans 5:3 - And hope does not disappoint, because the Love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1 Peter 1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.

Abba Father, Glory and Honor and Praise to thee. Lord thank You for Your Promises, your Hope, your Love, your Faithfulness and most of all Your Tender Mercies poured into our lives. Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ as you walk into the year 2020, which you will do every morning for 365 days, may these precious words of truth resound again and again to bring encouragement when you are depressed, strength when you are weary, peace when you are anxious or worried, and Hope when you are hopeless. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.

Filled to the Brim with HOPE,
