The Day After

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Hopefully those who traveled to visit family and friends for Christmas were able to arrive home safely and hopefully those who got the time off from work enjoyed themselves and were ready for another work day. Me, being retired, am able to enjoy the day after. Yes, how many days after have we all had? The day after the wedding, the day after the big celebration party, the day after the birth of a child, the day after the death of a loved one, the day after...

The story of Jesus doesn't tell to much about the day after but it does tell us in Luke 2:15-24,

"And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
And Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was call JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;
As it is written in the law of the Lord, (Every male that openth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)
And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons."

So much happened the day after His Birth and may it be so for us who have received His Grace.

Yes the celebrating and the pondering continues in our hearts.

Abba Father, Praise thee and thank You for the days after. There are so many of those days as they have been made by thee and planned and purposed and filled with Your Presence and Your Peace. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that in the days after of her life that she will celebrate each day knowing that You have made it and also ponder on the things that You have filled her days after with. Lord God I ask all these things in the Precious Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, Amen.

Lighted Christmas Decorations

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

One of the family traditions that we had was that after the Christmas Eve services we would drive around town and look at all the Christmas decorations. There was one particular house in the city we lived in for several years that the family would decorate up the alley with lighted Christmas scenes and it became such a tradition that year after year it grew and sometimes it would take you up to 10-15 minutes to drive through following and being followed by other onlookers.

As it draws closer to Christmas so does the Christmas decorations on houses, lawns, parks, and other public areas. Now that they have the air filled popups (that is what I call them) the decorations seem to range from the absurd to the traditional. Some of them are HUGE!!

I still enjoy the tradition of driving around and will do it again this year.

Celebrating and Pondering:

Luke 2:9, "And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the gloryof the Lord shone round about them..."

John 1:9, "That was the true LIGHT, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world."

Psalm 119:105, "Thy Word is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path."

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor due Your Beautiful and Precious Name. LORD thank You that You are our light that directs and guides and continues to shine through the darkness. LORD I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she continually seeks You in her life that You would guide her by Your light and that all other lights that distract, all other lighted decorations of the world would grow dim in comparison to Your Light, the Word which is a light unto her path. I pray in the Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, Amen.

My Home Town

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

I hope that you have allowed yourself sometime for celebrating and pondering this Christmas season!!

I have titled this post, My Home Town, just think about it - every man, woman and child was born in a town and maybe lived in that town their whole life or maybe just a short time and moved to another town and another and possibly another. For me, I am back in "my home town". A town I was born in but left for awhile and now have returned. All of us have a home town where we were born and maybe another town we consider "my home town", by that I mean where your heart is, a town where you feel most blessed and comfortable and just know it is where you are meant to live.

Which brings me to the Christmas Story as told in Luke 2:4, "And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because it was of the house and lineage of David:)."

Understandably so, we do not need to travel because of a decree, but still the Lord places us in towns where He has planned and purposed. Whether it be your place of birth or another town, this is where you have been placed.

How wonderful and marvelous that we need not worry about where we are for we are in the Master's Loving Care. May you conntinue to celebrate the birth of Christ and ponder on the significance of his birth upon mankind.

Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to You our most Sovereign LORD, who places us in just the right place. Lord I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that as she celebrates and ponders the birth of Jesus Christ her savior and Lord that she would raise up her hands and praise the One that "And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." (verse 7) and worship thee. In the Precious Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, Amen.

Proverbs 16:9 Imagination and Inspiration

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Welcome to the month of celebrating and pondering!

Imagination: 1) the faculty of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses. 2)the action or process of forming such images or concepts. 3)the faculty of producing ideal creations consistent with reality, as in literature, as distinct from the power of creating illustrative or decorative imagery.

Inspiration:
1) a divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul.
2) the divine quality of the writings or words of a person so influenced.

Proverbs 16:9 The mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Yes, welcome to the month of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. A wondrous time! Indeed a time of imagination for man. The signs were given and predicted yet man still imagined how and when and where.

Yes, welcome to the month of pondering the birth of Jesus Christ. A wondrous time! Indeed a time of inspiration for man. The signs were given and predicted and directed by the Divine Influence the Great I AM, the creator of the Universe, Holy Father of Jesus Christ.

Yes, the mind of man plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Abba Father,

All Praise and Glory and Honor to thee. Thank you oh most Sovereign LORD that as each dear and precious sister-in-Christ imagines today and how she is to live and breath and enjoy or maybe endure it that you would inspire her to walk confidently through each moment of her day knowing that You are her loving and faithful and kind and gentle and peaceful and ever present LORD. In the Precious Name of Jesus, the Name above all names. Amen.

Blessings
