John 12:36

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

As many of you already know when we decided to make a major change in our lives and move from the mainland to Hawaii there was much to prepare for... what to keep, what to sell, what to leave behind and what to bring. Once the decision had been made and we started our "adventure" I panicked big time. Yes, I sure did! It seems so long ago, going on 13 years... We took off with just a couple of suitcases and hit the open road visiting family and friends along the way. I purchased a book at one of the Flying J Truck Stops, "Just Enough LIGHT for the Step I'm On" by Stormie OMartian, and when we finally arrived on the island and living in a condo searching the paper every day for a place to rent I began to read it.

Two weeks ago I was searching through my library and found it again, sitting on the shelve and when I picked it up and started to read - I'm back in that place once again. This is where I am -- "So don't worry about seeing or understanding what the future holds. God wants you to trust Him as He leads you, even though you can't see clearly ahead. And don't be overly concerned about fully comprehending the past. Only He knows the whole truth about it, anyway. You have HIM now. He is your Light. And that's all that matters." (Just Enough Light for the Step I'm On by Stormie OMartian)

Abba Father, Praise thee for Your Light. Lord, praise thee for Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105). Lord gather Your children under the shadow of Your Wings and protect them from that which brings darkness. Lord may Your Light shine in their lives in showing them that from this day forward You are their LORD who gives and brings and restores and renews and revives and nurtures and builds up and removes and when Your Light shines there is nothing that is able to extinguish it. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Psalm 46

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ,

Yesterday afternoon our island experienced a 5.6 earthquake and then last night I fell asleep to the sound of the roaring surf as the waves pounded the beach. I awoke to that same sound this morning. I find it interesting that I had two different reactions to each event. As the earth was shaking my body was experiencing the same kind of being shaken experience but the sound of the seas roaring lulled me to sleep. This is just a side note really. What I do want to share comes from the Psalm 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah"

Abba Father, I thank thee for Your glorious Truth and Your amazing goodness. I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ today that she cling steadfast to this promise found in Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Oh Lord God may Your Name be exalted in the turbulent times of our lives and in the quiet times of our lives. In Jesus Name, Amen.
