Your Life God's Way

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, My husband started to watch a series named, "David" on one of the channels and right up front it has a disclaimer about the accuracy of historical and biblical events, which for me was an important disclaimer to make. I started watching it with him with this in mind but my curiosity got the best of me so I decided to search it out by reading 1 Samuel. I am so glad that I did! How much richer and deeper and treasured was the story. We completed the series and along with me reading the account each morning. When I started reading God's account of Samuel and Saul and David and Jonathan they became alive and personal. In understanding God's plan as their lives unfolded was looking into a cinematic, 3D, enhanced and any other name that can be applied to the scenes. It was as if the scroll had been rolled open or the haze had cleared or the mirror had been cleansed so that what was actually happening in real time. It was an eye opener to me, for the first time, I was privileged to see the heart of the matter. God's heart and through this series and reading the truth of the story no longer can I see my life as something that just happens. The director did an excellent job and the actors were very good at playing their roles BUT when you read the scriptures and understand the wholeness and sacredness of the story, how can you not desire the truth. My reading of the old testament has been drastically changed and so has my affection for the written word and the grace of God. I am only fully alive and able to thrive when God is telling my story. And He does it so beautifully and masterfully in a way that I cannot and must not try to understand. He is the Master Potter and I am the clay. He is the Creator and I am His creation. And for that reason my greetings each Wednesday start with "dear and precious sisters-in-Christ for you are alive and you are thriving by the Grace of God. He is the author, He is the beginning and end of every chapter of your lives and His Lovingkindness and Steadfast Love is consistently and constantly and continuously being penned in your life every day. Let us pray - Abba Father, Praise and Glory and Honor to Your name. O, Lord, thank you that with each breath that we take and each tear that is shed and each hurt we have experienced and each giggle we have made and each small and seemingly insignificant thought You have seen and heard and embrace us with Your Goodness. May our stories reflect Your glory O, Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen. Your story is glorious,

Following the Light

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, Yesterday we took a trip into a bigger city than ours to have some much needed service on our vehicle. The weatherman had cautioned that our area would have rain and to plan accordingly. When we left our house the rain was falling softly so was hoping that it would not really get bad until after we got home. Well, that was not the case! After our car was serviced we headed to our final destination in that city and soon after leaving that establishment the rains came down. As I approached the on ramp there was a big semi that moved over into the other lane allowing me to maneuver in back of him. Suddenly the tail lights lit up and through the heavy downpour and the backsplash from his semi the red lights lit up and I looked in my rear view mirror and slowed way down. I decided to follow the trucker because I could see the taillights which kept me in the right lane but also I knew that the trucker would pave the way for me. The trucker led the way for about 20 miles and then exited the freeway, by then it was clear enough for me to travel the rest of the 15 miles back home. It was a white knuckle drive home but I felt safe as the trucker's taillights shined brightly in the rain and fog. By now you probably know where my mind went after safely getting home - yes, following the light. In this case it wasn't a bright white light but instead the red taillights. Once again, the Lord protected and provided for us on our drive - I know that it was the red taillights of the trucker because of the situation. It was downpouring and traveling behind all the cars and trucks made it worse and also the fog made it almost impossible to see what was in front of me BUT if not for the Lord's providing a semi truck in front of me paving the way and for protected me from any dangers ahead of me, it was the peace that I had in knowing that it was not a coincidence but that it was the Lord's doing. I had cried out to Him because I was afraid of driving in the RAIN on the freeway and then the light appeared. God is so Good and pure and righteous! Let us pray - Abba Father, Your Lovingkindness and Steadfast Love appears in the most amazing of ways. How rich in mercy and grace that You make everyday a day of blessings. O, Lord, I pray for each dear and precious sister-in-Christ that she sees and feels and knows of Your Lovingkindness and Steadfast Love and be drenched in it and even hunger for it. May she see it in the special moments and in the sorrowful moments and in the quiet moments. In Jesus Name, Amen. He will protect and provide,

We Have Made It Thus Far

Greetings dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, We have made it thus far! Yes, we singly and collectively have made it thus far and in my reading yesterday morning in Colossians 2:6 and 7, for it is written, "Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith , just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.", it was made possible by Jesus Christ. How rich and merciful and gracious and good is our God. You might recall last week's posting about visiting the nursery, well the saga continues... All the beautiful flowers and plants that we bought needed to be repoted. We decided to add a little flair to our backyard so purchased two planters boxes with lattices for the clematis and for some bulbs and other flowers and placed it against the house by the back deck. Naturally it needed to be assembled! We started last Thursday and yesterday it was finally completed and ready for planting. Needless to say our bodies are a lot sore and tired but looking at the finished project it was so worth the time and effort put into it. We knew going in that it was going to be hard work and yet we had to step back and realize that it was not going to be done in a few hours. For that reason the scriptures that I had read yesterday became so vividly clear that my walk with the Lord Jesus Christ is not over yet - and actually it has just begun once again for the journey of faith continues to be one day at a time and only He knows how much and how far each day's work takes for each one of us. He has and continually gives us desires and wants and needs for only by being firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in our faith can we accomplish anything in our lives. Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, we have made it thus far by the grace and mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ and may we give Him the praise - let us pray - Abba Father, Glorious LORD, how great is Your Love, thank You that it far surpasses any other Love for it is Your Lovingkindness and Steadfast love that keeps us firmly rooted. For when we received Christ Jesus the Lord, our journey of faith began and all we have ever needed to do was walk in You. You firmly rooted us and You are building us up and have established our Faith. Lord wherever you have firmly rooted each dear and precious sister-in-Christ, today may we singly and collectively be overflowing with gratitude and with hands lifted high and voices raised in praise may be thank You for this day for it is only possible that we can shout, we have made it thus far by Your tender mercies and abounding grace. In Jesus Name, Amen. Blessings and have an overflowing with gratitude day,

Our Annual Visit to Amherst Nursery

Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ, We have always had a housefull of assorted plants and the outside was arrayed with assorted trees and plants and flowers and vegetation. This being our second year of living in Ohio we are still trying to make our outside and inside filled with assorted plants and flowers. We decided not to put in a vegetation garden but instead have roses and clematis and dahlias and hanging baskets of petunias and violets. And what better place to go - a nursery! Our son told us about this nursery that he and his wife would go to in April and May. Last year we went after Mother's Day and they were getting ready to close the following weekend so our choices were rather limited. So this year we decided to go much earlier. Monday we took off early just in case it was going to rain before we got back. Now to get to this nursery the drive is about 36 miles and you need to have GPS because it is located deep within the country lanes. We traveled through small towns and large empty corn fields and around hairpin turns with varying speed limits, like 25 to 55 mph. The drive is very enjoyable on a sunny day and thinking about what to buy keeps us steady on the road. The closer we got to our destination we saw more and more cars on the two-lane country road we were traveling on and then we saw the entrance. What a surprise - the parking lot looked like the entrance to an amusement park. We slowly maneuvered between the people exiting the nursery with carts filled and also those who had filled their cars trying to return the empty carts. There must have been hundreds of people and yet when we entered the nursery it looked like a beautiful garden with all the fragrances and colors and flavors of the beauty of nature. The air was so fresh and with the sunlight filtering in from the screened roof we were in our own little world. As we perused the isles looking for our desired flowers and plants I was thinking about the Goodness of our Lord. I was also thinking about our journey in getting to the nursery. The different speed limits, the small towns, going over railroad tracks, hairpin turns, and especially getting to our destination. It was full of so many people and yet the nursery itself was so peaceful and serene. My verse for today is Isaiah 45:8, "Drip down, O heavens, from above, And let the clouds pour down righteousness; Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit, And righteousness spring up with it. I, the LORD, have created it." Dear and precious sisters-in-Christ let us pray - Abba Father, Praise to Thee for You have created it and ALL that You created may it be as it is written, "drip down, from above and let the clouds pour down righteousness." Our lives O Lord are like the drive to the nursery, there are varying speeds and small towns and railroad tracks and hairpin turns and yet You will cause our paths to be smooth. O, Lord our final destination is Heaven but we still have so much to do here on earth. Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit. May these dear and precious sisters-in-Christ bear much fruit and righteousness spring up with it. In Jesus Name, Amen. Enjoy the journey,
